Duty and Love
We do have a duty and the motive is love. Interestingly, love is not a passion, it transcends those dynamics. It is a principle that cannot be confined to the inner vortex of passions.
‘Duty‘. If you understand the word, ‘dharma’ is closer. It is a way, not a single force, but the encompassing rule of all forces. This is what love is. When someone wrongs you, what is their motive? It isn’t sadism. Even sadists have this motive. The motive is love. When someone yells at you. They seek love, acceptance, peace. Their view is likely mistaken. They see themselves as outside of the love equation, outside of the principle of harmony and they do not know this passion that makes them yell. They are told they need to fix it, which of course warps it and in their effort to cope they try to be controlling. Usually making them engage in self abuse and abuse of you in the name of doing what they think is right. Seems strange doesn’t it?
All in the name of “control”. Why is control such a vaunted idea? It was discussed in the Matrix movies. Control, and we are all programmed to control. To be in control and to try to control others. Are animals in control, or are they what they are? Are we somehow above this ourselves? Perhaps sickness is this control. Perhaps it is why people “go postal”.
They say that the biggest problem is mans inability to spend any real time alone by themselves. They fear their inner demons. They are told if your thinking gets strange you are going crazy and fearing you are going crazy you get fearful. But most people never truly keep their own company. They have a role. As long as they are that role they feel they are themselves. But what happens if you go home and have no role there? Then what do you do with yourself?
You have to be human don’t you? You have to see what scares you most about yourself. That maybe you aren’t normal. Maybe you aren’t in control. Maybe that purpose that you don’t think about while working isn’t a purpose at all. People get scared they have nothing but duty.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100%, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong.
Your opinion is welcome friend. Its good that you question, because no words by themselves can ever substitute for the experience of realization.
