Instinct to Overcome
If you do a thing and you do it right the first time, what must you learn? Really nothing. That is not defining of the human condition, but we make it a part of it. Mostly because as I have said before, we are taught to resist our problems. When all you have is a hammer everything winds up looking like a nail. Sometimes we even resist our resistance, vicious cycle but true. The wild life isn’t superior, neither is the disciplined. There is not a differentiation, there is only life in all it’s amazing diversity.
I have dealt in my personal life with the idea of evil and came to two insights. One is sort of a backhanded expression of the other. In society evil is the person who two others agree is evil, and therefore is meaningless. So I sought meaning and found only one meaning that satisfied me. That which furthers life, nurtures it, enhances it and flows with it can be called good. That which resists it, hurts it, disrupts it and twists it can be called bad.
We have an instinct, even very young children. And it isn’t truly lost, we just have to recall it. And when we do that, express it. Often though, and paradoxically perhaps, the best way to recall it is to do it. Just act, don’t worry, just act. People are afraid of mistakes. They’re afraid of “sin”. And thus those mistakes get repeated endlessly, and they know no end to sin.
The fear of death is the gateway in toward immortality because in fearing it you see it and if you turn within you see it more clearly. But fear of life is the real death. People ask, ‘what is the meaning of life?’. The answer is simple, ‘life is the meaning of life’. Only fear of life makes that question even necessary. Life has endless meaning.
Ah, but if we just be, then what about all the thinking? And who are we if we don’t think as we are told? If we don’t analyze, then what? Perhaps then we have to see now, and heaven forbid we do that. To see the limitations of the mind is to see its strength also. We can’t say our mind is strong and know what we speak of until we see clearly how it is weak.
So we can live without resistance. We create it and we can choose not to. Seeing that what you are is good. That was god’s judgement. He created everything and said that it was good. So why do we think otherwise?
You are what you are and there is neither reason nor ability to change that. Quality of life is only found in living.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
