I don’t put much stock and feelings in what you ‘should’ feel. According to those who say what I should feel, I should be a mass murderer, but I’m not.
Let’s face it, what is there to living your life, but living YOUR life? Anything you deny yourself is just something you denied yourself. We will not only fail to escape our inner natures, but we are unable to avoid the responses that arise from the essential self or spirit of other people.
Nobody created this force, and nobody has a genuine claim of authority on it. This force is life itself. Not your life or my life, but all life.
All authorities teach us to believe things that serve not our best interests, but the purpose of making us manageable. That’s what authority is, management. We manage as a society by obsessive pursuit of a substitute for spirited living. We are offered an endless stream of new sensations and experiences, as well as things to possess, just to say we have them. All of these are weak attempts to compensate us for what we are actually denied by others. We are not allowed to be as we are. We are forced to BE HAPPY. If our state should change from that, it is a failure of personal character and values.
Don’t worry, a real living world is still out there. It’s just not something you can purchase, sort of like real love. Possessions are only as valuable as they let you engage in creative self development and expression. The most valuable thing you can give anyone else is the fully developed, genuine person that you can become. How can we effectively work with each other if we fail to appreciate and work with our authentic self?
It may seem like the lowly limited individual, we have come to believe ourselves to be, is a hopeless place to start from, but did you really have a chance with what authorities have taught you? Fortunately, you are still breathing and life goes on.
People often complain that life doesn’t really give them choices. The problem is actually the opposite. You have a long grocery list of choices laid out in front of you, but the list is not in your handwriting. It is more like a juvenile wish list created for you because no one believes there is anything more to have, or be, or do. They don’t believe that anything more is possible. That self that you may have been ignoring for a long time is the only real freedom you have. It’s judgement was good enough to make you regret what might have been had you only listened. You can always start listening now. If you do that, maybe listening to other people won’t be so utterly depressing. You might even be able to help them out of that rut in the floor they trapped themselves in, as well.
Friends, I know I have spent this whole time telling you things you already know, but were you listening? If so, then it’s really not hard to see that you don’t actually want to do anything that hurts others, just as you don’t want to do anything that hurts yourself. You just want to live your life as the person you are. So do I.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
