Spirituality for Living

How can we trust our senses when they are so limited? Yet people do. But in fact there is something that makes you trust your senses and lies underneath the senses. Experience? No. That comes after and often leads to some cloudy thinking. The lack of alternatives? Also I wouldn’t characterize it that way. Emotions? That’s part of it. The capacity for emotion precedes the senses. We are a being that arises from the greater life. From the ways of nature itself. Our senses are not the product of our thinking but our thinking can cloud our sense.

We are not defective, but we limit ourselves with divisive thinking. Saying this experience is true but that other wasn’t. Nothing is true. We experience everything and the consequences of everything. We are whole but rip ourselves to shreds by identifying with only a narrow set of things. But the interesting thing is that we have a narrow grasp of reality because we make it so. We establish ideas and ignore our own natures, our natural responses. Thinking them base or without wisdom.

What do I think about the existence of universal truth? I see an implicate order and this implicate order is what orders the senses. But it becomes explicit by our thinking. Differentiated by our focus. Our patterns of focus can be seriously dissonant, making life seem like chaos. It’s a faculty of the mind.

What keeps us in focus, and keeps us on course? Attention couples with intention. You for one reason or another have a pattern of intention. It dictates your actions. Your attention will energize your intentions. Whatever you have determined to see as true you will see proof of.
