What I’m Hanging Hope On Today: Being realistic isn’t realistic. Living up to people’s expectations very often means keeping our head down.
Analytic thinking comes cheap. It’s the only way anyone can formulate an opinion. If an opinion is held with any feeling behind it, the original integrity of the emotion is often lost beneath half developed thoughts of who, why and when. All the exceptions to the rules and extenuating circumstances people labor under inevitably make nonsense of all their dedication to sense and sensibility.
Life is change and honestly living requires seeing and engaging with the sensational and emotional nature of encounters as they emerge, without losing awareness of the lives involved in favor of a point of view that is occurring only to you. If you hold past experience up on a pedestal, you will expend precious attention and emotional strength on trying to make certain that things conform to the shallow values you may have learned when you were young.
Let’s end the insanity. The ancient why of societal structure is long lost. We don’t need to lose our breath and any joy our lives still offer by chasing after it.
It’s gonna be okay. What do you say?
