What else are crystals used for? Energy manipulation? They can be used for energy manipulation. Have you ever wished you could get someone to do some energy work for you, but don’t know anyone you feel comfy with? Crystals are an intelligence, and can direct energies they bond with. They will tend to direct them in ways that match their character. So if you want a crystal to assist health, then quartz and its variants will likely be best.

Like meeting a new person you may not be resonant with a specific type of crystal. For myself, I tend to connect more with crystals that have base element inclusions, iron, etc. Those things that are more on the “decayed” side of the elemental chart, but others would perhaps vibe with more “refined” or “energetic” crystals. They each have an impact on people.

Now in fact crystals can be used to serve as an additional pair of eyes when dealing with places of power, or just dealing with your personal space. They can also be brought into entrainment to radiate an effect you would have fill your home. A “positive” haunting in a way.

The material uses of things in magic (or whatever you prefer to call your practice) stem from one type of insight, that the world is interconnected. Hermetic philosophy refers to these connections as correspondences, and they have been viewed in literally every mystical practice across the world.  This raises the question of what is power, and what is spirit.

Many observations have been made about how anything is organized, even human DNA. Perhaps of some interest is that literally everything follows a crystalline pattern; water, gases, any solid matter. Human DNA seems to be based on a calcium rich clay matrix, and interestingly so do quartz deposits.

Our elders live among us, nod sympathetically at times and in despair at others. There is little joy anymore. Though as they say hope springs eternal and so there is still adaptation. Still healing. Do you think they have special labs with deep thinkers on hallucinogenics? No, Leary was not very well funded, and Project Stargate is supposedly closed. Those dabbling in consciousness enhancement seem to have fallen flat on their faces. Rather than revile altered consciousness maybe they should look into it more.

They are making breakthroughs with consciousness experiments and meditation is on the rise, but they want a meat machine function for the meditation research. Supposedly meditation is a gainful practice for making the meat machine brain work better. The idea of the brain having any quantum level functions of consciousness is seen by most as absurd.

Did alchemists really try to change matter to something else like gold? They experimented with matter to confirm or refute their theories. What were their theories? A cycle of creation, or arising. The elements didn’t all just pop up, they stemmed from each other much like the cycle we can observe in water. Matter was actually not first, and in science solids aren’t the first or primary state. They observed cycles of destruction. How matter (if it’s behaving like that) seems to self interrupt. More or less “go nuke” though not that dramatic.  They observed this cycle in states of mind and health also, so the alchemists were right about that if not detailed.

Alchemy can be applied widely, and it’s more a way of thinking or philosophy rather then ’stir a pot and out comes gold’ as it’s usually portrayed. The association with making gold was narrow even in the heyday of alchemy. However, some say philosophy is just a subjective stance and has no substance in the material world. Then why is it philosophy at all? If it’s truly wisdom, doesn’t or shouldn’t it have more substance than subjective view, or is the idea that what we label as subjective not so clear a thing?

Alchemy uses a series of beliefs that I myself practice. Both intuitive and literal observations of matter and the natural world, but it is more focused on artifice. It even had a doctrine that doesn’t really defy common sense; That nature doesn’t create finished products. This is why alchemy had an almost moral agenda to it. They believed that by refining the material of nature they could at least partially reinstate the first “perfect” state of source. They didn’t know that the universes most primal energies were toxic to us in extreme states. Though even if we had never achieved nuclear fission, radiation exposure would still happen. It would likely be very helpful for westerners to study Confucianism, but many western thinkers decry the eastern fusion of intuition and logic. To the western mind logic is good, but intuition is bad.  To my observation, logic being given primacy has created some down right deranged policies and beliefs.

It’s too bad the Greeks made this separation between east and west that still exists today. It does originate in the Greek philosophical schools and was perpetuated. Descartes was and is a very popular binary thinker, and Nietzche didn’t help the matter. Materialistic thinking has done us serious harm. It seems the obvious cause of much of our woes today. What were some of the fundamentals about his thoughts or ideas? The analects of Confucius are a collection of works of his basic socio-political doctrines, and his teaching on social justice and compassion. He spoke of the need for loyalty and centralized authority, but not blind obedience. This is why his teachings would later result in a variety of tests for lower level political officials. He had guidelines for who was a fit leader, and they didn’t relate to military might. These guidelines are still being used to this day.

When exactly did it end being influent in Chinese society? Actually hasn’t ended, but in fact China entered an age of reason at about the same time the west did.
