What people are supposed to do is often what keeps the wheels of their life turning, like paying the bills, going to work. Wouldn’t they do it better if they worried about it less? Would it fall apart if we stopped? I think we fear that too much. Fear. There is a fine line between humour and horror.

So do go to work. Do pay your bills. And don’t worry about it. Play the game and if the rules change, learn them and keep playing. The danger is in going to extremes. Humour is never an extreme. That’s the difference between humour and horror, and we have a lot of horror. We go to extremes. Murder thousands to defend ourselves. Now that is horror.

F.E.A.R. = fantasy envisioned as reality. We can make our dreams come true. These dreams are often nightmares and usually brought on by taking it all very seriously. You will have a life. No matter what, you will be playing some game. You will decide there is a purpose, a goal and will work toward it. Fun is necessary, but life’s dance goes bigger than that.

How can we escape the past, so we can find the humour now? We don’t have to believe any of our thoughts. The mind cannot tell the difference between reality and something vividly imagined, but in fact you won’t escape your past. What you will escape is the tie to it, when you see that what seemed so very serious was just the outcome of forces in life, that included you but were not exclusive to you. The idea I’m alone is a terrible thought and it’s completely untrue. Is why we sometimes laugh when we hear of something disturbing that happened to another. Not because we are hateful people, but in the moment we hear of it we can say “ya, me to”.
