The topic is obsession, but I often start with an overstated but related state, and then work to the subtle. So I will open with a discussion of possession.

Possession is more common than people think, but often mistaken. The movies show a body snatcher breaking the body of the host, but this is not how it usually works. The process of possession starts with an entrainment phase, where the environment of the “victim” is flooded with the spiritual energies of the intended controller.

When you say “controller” what are you referring to? Oh, a controlling spirit. There are any of a variety of entities. I use controller instead of possessor, because they don’t actual own your body. They don’t need to.

Like in Alien? Also a mistaken notion, or like it’s illustrated in the Exorcist.

Possession in those instances seem to be just about controlling the body. Is that not accurate then? No. Controlling the body is not accurate. A controller wants more. The controller wants first a window and then a door. They first are drawn to someone who already has a sympathetic resonance to their own energy, like anger for violently inclined spirits. The initial bond is sort of like hypnosis.

Is it true they seem to be drawn more to children? No. Elementals are drawn to children. Mostly controllers are drawn to adults. They want a mature host, but children can often sense controllers. This is why they often fear an otherwise “nice” adult.

Most possession “victims” are only shallowly possessed, and what it amounts to is the controller posting billboard signs all over their inner psychological filter. But sometimes, when the controller sees the need, they bombard the host with what amounts to psychological warfare/brainwashing. Sometimes even opening a channelling state so they seem to control the host either by convincing the host to identify with it, or by forcing the host into trance and using that channel, usually only to psychologically intimidate another “energy source.”

If the host is already in a high emotional state, does the controller sort of push the host over the edge and then take advantage of the unbalanced state? Yes, exactly.

Now I think I have covered the possession process well, yes? The entity is an aura squatter and not actually in the host’s body.
