Presence In Experience
Responsibility. Are we responsible for anything beyond our direct human connections?
- I don’t see how we can be.
- Well, doesn’t that include the cosmos? We do chant for the sun to rise.
Our direct connections do include the land we live with, yes, but most people feel ill equipped to see the land as something you can communicate with even though we do all the time.
Yes, and beyond. We do have direct connections to those who have passed and live on in our memory. With deeper insight you can come to see that it isn’t even your memory. Do you have to create these memories that you are in contact with?
And those whose paths have crossed ours, but do not see anymore either. Indeed. Just because you don’t see it now, doesn’t mean it isn’t a part of your pattern. Your “footprint” in life.
I always wondered what makes some people easier to remember than others. Especially once they have passed away. Well, it can be said to be their mana. Some mana is shadowy, and some bright and clear.
Death is very important. Having an understanding of death totally changes the context of how we evaluate the futility of everything. There is a substance to the collective and individual spirit there that has a form, a reason. You are going to die and your presence will change and your relationship to this world will change, but won’t vanish. If anything is futile, why do so many memories and experiences linger both as causative influences as well as emotional weight?
We can eat without tasting a thing and still be nourished, but then that would be pretty boring. You can eat without tasting a thing and it actually hurts the body. This is why obesity is such an issue.
So the experience counts? The experience always counts. But more than the experience is our presence in the experience, and what the experience reveals to us about our own spirits. Our life needs our attention. As well as our life beyond physicality, but because it’s beyond physicality people judge and say it’s beyond experience. You experience non-physical life all the time. You have a feeling? There isn’t a mechanical reason for it.
Well, people (as in generic people) do have limited purviews, and are told that is as far as it can go. Yes, and they invalidate the one and only source of meaning with that judgement. Emotion follows a pattern that isn’t mechanically efficient. Emotion isn’t pragmatic. It’s based on a wisdom that does not originate in a material/mechanical world, and instead originates in this world that we are busy convincing ourselves is machine. This reasonable to say?
Oh yes. I’m thinking of when peoples feelings are invalidated. They’re driven into thoughts of futility and hence depression. It is simple really. Yes, indeed. Quite simple. The most profound truths are right here, readily at hand, like breath. Why do we breath? It’s a mechanically absurd process, very inefficient, and causes our chemical composition to oxidize. So why do we breath?
We have just evolved that way? So it’s just accidental?
The act of breathing ties us to the feelings in the body? Indeed, it does. Ties us all together, and ties us to the electromagnetic energy in our environment. And I mean the natural fields, not the ones our machines generate. The air has always had ionization in it, and the rather common quartz crystals are electrically responsive even in nature before we ever decided we have a better use for them. We inhale ionized air, and oxygen oxidizes various chemicals in our bodies. This process also creates ionization. This ionization cannot escape the earths atmosphere, and actually tends to go into the earths electrical field which surrounds it and even fills our atmosphere, much like the bioelectrical fields around our bodies.
Our breathing changes the earth? Yes, and well… the primary form of “hard” memory storage is crystallization. Guess what governs the formation of crystalline matrixes? Electromagnetic field, and these patterns are present in the earth, in plants, in our bodies even. The shifts in the electromagnetic field caused by death (and yes death creates a noticeable spike) go on to imprint all this matter/memory all around us.
Like an echo? Yes. All my words were just a materialists explanation of what cultures like Native Hawaiian already know and always have. Even if they don’t develop an esoteric mechanics of it, they do have a long standing body of experience relating to it. A lot of useful insights.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
