'Change' Articles
The subject is change, and no I’m not going to ask for coin. Change is not something that just happens to you. All change happens in a context though you might not fully understand everything involved in a change in your life. In all of the change there is endurance. If something doesn’t change, it still does in that the context of its existence changes. You aren’t afraid the world will change, you are afraid you can change it. Well boo! You can.
“For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else.” Ralph Waldo Emerson (American Poet, Lecturer and Essayist, 1803-1882)
“The doors we open and close each day decide the lives we live.” Flora Whittemore
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” Maria Robinson
Change isn’t some alien force that makes us uncomfortable in our lives. Change isn’t any form of victimization that just makes us feel like we have no control. In fact, things like fire, and flood, and earthquake are very far from new. The wind has rose in destructive storms for as long as humanity can remember. These aren’t change, they are the long standing way of the natural world. Change is also not something that just happens to you. If you say I have changed but nothing else has, you are mistaken. People describe changing minds as if they can… Seek More

If you tell me my car was stolen, and I was not concerned about my car, not focused on anything to do with the car, is that really change for me? Oh, it might change for me later as my focus changes, but what if I have an attitude that the car just doesn’t matter, doesn’t and never will. Would its removal be change then? Change is degree of impact, and degree of impact is determined by the amount of focus on it? Change as we define it doesn’t really exist, we don’t even really think about change until we… Seek More

To overcome my fear of change, I need to work on my focus? Yes, change is what you see it to be. Realize that change is what you say it is. What you think, and feel, and believe it is. I have had people be aghast at what I find to be indifference in my life. They wonder why I don’t go crazy, and burn everything, and attack everyone. But in fact, I see so much of entropy, so much of disorder, that I see what it is. It isn’t a mystery. Birth and rebirth aren’t a mystery. Hope springs… Seek More

Who is actually fascinated with their own minds? Because your mind is your world, and you are response able people. If you would have a hand in change then realize that what you have, and what you feel, is where you are at, and by that same power that you change your feelings and change your mind, you can change your world. The layers of the mind run deep, but most don’t dig too far. They are mesmerized by the surface. Change makes you dig, because you made it happen. At least hopefully, or we die of the stress which many… Seek More

Change has given us a lot of great things. Change has given us everything. A new human life is a whole lot of change. We get a new human form from material we can’t even really see. You cannot guide what you will not touch, and what you will not allow to touch you, and you are meant to guide. We are a part of the big dance of the world, an endless spinning dervish dance, and when you find the center you will see “god”. You will see that it all made sense. Putting off change is not any… Seek More

How do you change the focus of the mind? Well, it is pretty simple. The mind is habitual, but it has limits. There are ideas that really confuse people about the mind, and you can’t change your mind by force of will. It doesn’t really matter if you are determined, if anything being determined keeps you focused on what you are trying to reject. A simple exercise if you all want to try it, think of something you like. Now don’t stop thinking about it, but I’m thinking of a stinking, rotten, road killed raccoon. You stopped thinking about it… Seek More

We don’t consider change very often as a rule, yet we get heavily invested in avoiding it, and keeping a picture of the world and ourselves, even if we profess to not like the world. Some of the most resistant people to change also eagerly say the world sucks, but when you point it back at them, then “Oh no, no”, they can’t change their thinking, and heaven forbid they change their doing. Do we resist change when we are ok with the world? Why does life seem so out of control if we can get in our comfort zone… Seek More

I have scary news, and it’s terrible. There is no failure. No matter what you do, you did that. Failure is the unexpected outcome, defining that which was not in your definition of success? Yes, but is it your definition of success? How many people have something that is genuinely their personal definition of success? Is your definition of success a fixed goal, or a process of change? Why people fear change in part, is that the world can change and it changes you. You know you are a part of that process of change and it scares you, threatens… Seek More

Joy is calming. So when can you have joy? With love. When ever we choose. When letting go. All true. The idea that you can control the world is a bit silly isn’t it? The idea that change is to be controlled, and that it must have your approval. Where is your own world? Is there any separation between self and world, and is there virtue in control for its own sake? Why is joy supposedly the answer? I think maybe if one realizes that they are IN change, that anything that occurs can be viewed upon equally as experience,… Seek More

If you want change and change is natural, understand the part that is yours. Which is you? You can do new things when you learn new things. You don’t have to say, “I was dumb, but now I’m smart”. That isn’t true, you are you. Do you know you? You are the one who can change. The way of change is in you as much as it’s in the world. I’m too big to know me. Well, then know the part you are in now perhaps? Is that bad advice? The part you are in is where you think you… Seek More
