'Hate' Articles
Love governs your behaviour, and so does hate. What we love, we give our loyalty to. What we hate, we give our loyalty to also. We need not go to hate, but to deny that you can go to hate, or say that you never go to hate, denies you that chance to choose. Maybe we learned hate when someone told us we couldn’t play. A lot of emotional scars people have come from being told simply that. The way of hate is not the way of love.
“You cannot hate other people without hating your self” Oprah Winfrey (American television personality,Actress and Producer, b.1954)
“Hate is too great a burden to bear. It injures the hater more than it injures the hated.” Coretta Scott King
“In time we hate that which we often fear.” William Shakespeare (English Dramatist, Playwright and Poet, 1564-1616)
I find it funny how dual peoples minds are. They think love is opposed to hate, that being friendly is different from being aggressive. It differs in quality from love certainly, but in my experience it’s not that simple. We move in the world, in the situations we find ourselves in, in relationship to other people and things. Hate is very much an investment, and people very often think that they aren’t in it, or can avoid being in it, but life isn’t that binary. Can hate be the same kind of basic truth that love is? It’s the other… Seek More

Hate is learned. We ascribe evil qualities to fire, because it seems to lay things to waste. We do not permit it place. In the natural dynamic tension there is no hate. Fire does not hate, and its energy though it destroys gives new life as well. So in dramatizing this conflict, in mistakenly believing this conflict is what we think it is, in seeing the death part of the cycle as evil and as a punishment, this is what gave us the idea of hate. Hate is a human idea, like ego. It’s not in animals. I’ve seen a… Seek More

Hate destroys by depletion. It shows itself in war with hate as the idea of conquest and taking by force. But in fighting and destroying, you lose what you supposedly would desire to possess. Hate comes from the same energy as love. It’s your very life force, your soul if you will, but it is the pattern it expresses itself in. In order to “hate” one must generate that negativity within. That kind of destruction? Like engineering, your foundation can be sound or unsound. Hate is destabilizing and an effort to put your energy into higher intensity with no mind… Seek More

I am often surprised at how dualistic peoples minds are; love this, hate that, this is good, that is bad, this is spiritual, that is dirty. There are creeds today that though they profess to espouse unity, encourage us to deny/ignore/reject parts of our being. A lot gets lumped in under ego, but ego is a face, a front, sort of like the faceplate on modern car cd players, it isn’t the substance of our minds, and much that we try to hide from in denying ego still persists. It’s the idea that you can get away from it that… Seek More

When Jesus went into his meditative retreat, it came to mind that he could claim power. He was being heralded as the next King of Israel, as well as the messiah, and he confronted these. He didn’t just ward himself against the devil, nor was his purity evident in being untouched by darkness, but quite the opposite. When he was touched by darkness, and saw as was his gift to see, he reaffirmed the deeper truth. Even in the Bible Jesus knew anger. They are really very blunt about it, but even still his actions differed in spirit. He acted… Seek More

The idea of ‘that is me’… I have an idea of who I am, and honestly it’s not a very interesting idea. It isn’t very fun, so since I like interesting ideas and fun, I look around. Where am I now really? Do I know everything about what is here? What can I do here? In a box? Oh, I’m in a box sure, and I can be on the box too, or I can put the box on me. I am always free when I’m aware that I am free. Kids know how to play with a box. They… Seek More
