Visit the Hall of Contention on Reflection Island to play. C-TAG is a comprehensive laser-tag game designed for use with the free CERIX system. Click on the blue info icon at the hall landing zone to get your C-TAG kit. For more complete help visit:

This game is tag-style laser combat. Players run around shooting each other and collecting boost icons. The team plints keep track of team-on-team kills, deaths, friendly-fire, etc, and produce scores for each team.

CERIX is so easy to use, you don’t really need an instruction manual to start. Here’s the rundown:

1. Attach the HUD. (The blue info icon at the hall will give you a hud when you get the pistol and wear it. Rez the box to unpack the hud and then delete the box.) CERIX attaches to the top left corner of your screen.
2. Follow the URL link it gives you for our 30-second signup process.
3. The green bar (sometimes yellow or red if your health is low) is Health. When it reaches 0, you’re dead.
4. The blue bar shows you your remaining ammo.
5. Click the health or ammo bar to expand the HUD. CERIX will display your basic performance stats.
6. Click the stats to visit your profile on our website.
7. Click the health/ammo bars again to collapse the HUD.
8. Click the arrow to minimize the HUD (it will pop out again automatically if you’re attacked).
9. Click the arrow when minimized to bring up the health and ammo bars again.

That’s it, really. There’s a full manual on the website if you need help.

Enjoy!

C-TAG LASER TAG

This is a very simple primer designed to get you started playing C-TAG immediately. It assumes you are already familiar with the free CERIX HUD system and general SL principles. For more information, visit .

Overview:

C-TAG is a fun, retro combat game designed for use with the free CERIX Combat System. While CERIX is a complex system designed for sophisticated and extensive user play, C-TAG is just a simple game designed to give you a quick and fun combat experience.

Game Structure:

C-TAG is divided into as many as five teams: Blue, Red, Green, Yellow, and White. Each team has a plinth (a short tower with stats) somewhere in the arena.

To register yourself with a team, simply wear the free C-TAG Laser Pistol designed for that team. When the system is reset by a moderator, all you need to do is click your Laser Pistol to re-register.

The game structure itself is a simple FPS, and the rules are determined by the moderator. Generally, C-TAG play involves one of two structures:

1. STRAIGHT COMBAT – This structure simply involves killing as many members of the opposing team as possible. At the end of a preset time period, scores for each team are tallied and a winner is declared. Team scores are determined simply by team kills – team deaths, with a penalty for friendly fire. Avoid killing your own teammates, as this will bring down your team’s score.

2. CAPTURE-THE-FLAG – Each team is given a flag, which looks like a revolving fleur-de-lis in the team’s color. The goal in this structure is to capture the flags of opposing teams. To capture the flag, you must find the flag and walk through it.

The Pistol:

Each shot will take 10 life points off of your target. The gun holds a total of 50 shots, and begins with a half-load of 25. When you run out of ammo, you must find an ammo boost in order to gain more shots. The pistol has an effective range of 48 meters; beyond that the damage is lessened.

Boosts:

Boosts are floating icons that appear randomly throughout the battlefield. If you find a boost, run through it or shoot it with your pistol to collect it. You will be awarded the boost, and the boost will disappear.

There are 4 types of boosts:

1) Health Boost – The health boost looks like a red cross. This boost will award you a random number of health points between 5 and 15.
2) Ammo Boost – The ammo boost looks like a green arrow. This boost will award you a random number of shots between 5 and 15.
3) Stimulant Boost – The stimulant boost looks like a blue cross. This boost will raise your total life bank by a random number between 5 and 15. Note that this does not mean you get extra health right away; instead, it means that the total number of life points you can have goes up by 5 to 15 points. If you collect a 10-point stimulant boost while your health is at 95%, your health will not change, but you will be able to heal up to 110% rather than the usual 100%. This boost lasts until your next death.
4) Shield Boost – The shield boost will provide a full shield for 30 seconds. This shield will follow you around and remove damage done by laser fire. Note that the shield works by instantly healing you when damage is done to you; this means that the damage is done first and then the shield heals you.
