Charity

True charity is accepting presence. This includes everyone. Charity stems from the heart, and when distressed your supposedly higher functions will fly out the window thanks to the mercy of natures guidance.

Charity must start with the self, which is why it’s possible to feel at home anywhere. I myself practice charity, because it’s the only thing I can actually have. I respond to people and situations in my environment as my observations would suggest is most appropriate, nothing more.

If this were hell, what would you give? If this were heaven, what would you keep to yourself? What is the difference between the two?

“Charity begins at home, but should not end there” Proverb

“All things are perceived in the light of charity, and hence under the aspect of beauty; for beauty is simply reality seen with the eyes of love.” Evelyn Underhill (English theologian and mystic 1875-1941)

“The charity that is a trifle to us can be precious to others.” Homer (Greek poet presumed author of the Iliad and the Odyssey, 9th-8th century BC)
