Sorcery

The practice of sorcery is dependent on the understanding that the world is an intelligent system, and because it is an intelligent system it is subject to influence just as we are. Sorcery traces its roots back to early shamanic practice. They saw the intelligences of the world as another form of people, and attempted to influence them as they might have members of another clan or tribe.

The techniques of sorcery are more of a craft that can be refined and advanced than anything mandated by a religious dogma. In order to affect change, they would seek to communicate with the spirit behind the person or situation that had authority over it, and motivate it to action.

“I think that the ideal space must contain elements of magic, serenity, sorcery and mystery.” Luis Barragan
