Category: Narcissism

Narcissism could be described as attachment to ones own self image which has little or nothing to do with their factual state of mind. It involves no habit of self reflection. It can lead to a strong tendency toward denial, at least of anything that runs contrary to their grandiose model of self.

There is a reason those who have been especially well favoured in food, shelter or looks often develop narcissistic traits if not full blown narcissism. They are the first people to be subject to the existential pressure that comes from a life defined by one or more of those three traits. Others have the distraction of being able to fantasize about having an abundance of those things, even if their fantasies don’t reflect the reality accurately.

    What is Narcissism?

Life of Looks, Food and Shelter

Can we really tolerate a life of looks, food and shelter and nothing more, for very long? No, it loses meaning. There is simply that. And that was what happened to the Buddha. Oh yes, he had a down right posh life, finest wines, women and song, and grew quite sick of it all. He…

  • Anxiety leading to Narcissism

    Anxiety leading to Narcissism

Is there any real reason for our bodies to be allergic to things? Like certain foods? There is a real reason, yes, anxiety, and it’s anxiety that leads to narcissism as well. Shall I explore the science of that or the subjective? Or both? Both. There could be ways to cure allergies then if you…

  • Extend Notion of Self

    Extend Notion of Self

My bringing up tribal and communal culture plays out in the subjective explanation of how anxiety leads to narcissism. If the science has been adequately explained, we ready for it? Yes. The reason the narcissist can seem so charismatic despite their self aggrandizing and entitlement view of others and the world around them… They see…
