Cannibalism

The thinking behind cannibalism is world wide, and not truly gone from the world. Evidence suggests that cannibalism was practiced more commonly as a form of sacrament than an actual food driven practice, and most of the worlds human sacrifice was voluntary. The involuntary sacrifices were what the tribe considered the “spoils of war”, enemy tribal warriors.

Cannibalism was often seen as a way to, in a sense, let the dead carry on living in you. This is why the Christian communion exists, and even science suggests that you may inherit partial memory from your ancestry; perhaps much world theory is accurate?

Cannibalism is actually only seen as disrespectful in modern thinking, or in cultures that believe the body must be preserved intact. My signature character type in World of Warcraft has an ability called cannibalism. It is also undead and I was born under the sign of Anubis. Incidental mysticism?

“Nothing more strongly arouses our disgust than cannibalism, yet we make the same impression on Buddhists and vegetarians, for we feed on babies, though not our own.” Robert Louis Stevenson (Scottish Essayist, Poet and Author of fiction and travel books, 1850-1894)

“Slander is worse than cannibalism” Saint John Chrysostom (Church Father, biblical interpreter , and archbishop of Constantinople, 347-407)
