Spirituality is not bereft of the physical. To set them apart is to err and never truely know either. If there is no spiritual essence to this physical existence then why does it exist at all? The tendency of species to fail to thrive, but how did they even arise?
“The vanity of the sciences. Physical science will not console me for the ignorance of morality in the time of affliction. But the science of ethics will always console me for the ignorance of the physical sciences.” Blaise Pascal
“Physical concepts are free creations of the human mind, and are not, however it may seem, uniquely determined by the external world.” Albert Einstein (German born American Physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity. Nobel Prize for Physics in 1921. 1879-1955)
Some think that spirituality and materialism are exclusive of each other, but if you embrace that you are spiritual then where does your existence arise from? What reason do we have to believe that the physical existence is somehow separate from its physical counterpart? In looking at life (the very physical life that we see around us and feel inside of us) is there really a need to hypothesize some ethereal element that is independent from the flesh and blood itself? Why is the flesh supposedly profane in so many beliefs? The actions of the body/brain (mind) have been considered viable ways… Seek More
The converse of the order we know isn’t necessarily chaos. So why do we perceive spirit to run counter of, or independently of matter? Isn’t chaos just the absence of order? Chaos is the presence of potential, yet not actualized energy. If there is a fire and “chaos” breaks out, people will run. However there is order and a pattern as they all seek an escape route. Indeed. There seems a paradoxical balance in life and the raw experience of life itself. So why must we anthropomorphize it and set it apart from ourselves? Or hypothesize it’s a state of existence that… Seek More
The origin of the theory of physical separation as an entity is an excellent topic. Quantum non locality and it’s meaning in spirituality. Thinking may not tell you exactly what it is, but thinking heavily suggests that it ‘IS’. Not understanding has nothing to do with whether it exists or not. In fact, the raw mechanics of non-locality explain a lot of spiritual experience, and one can be non local and likewise attenuated to one perceived location in space. With the cycles of the moon there are gravity distortions of time space. You feel less localized in that tangent of… Seek More
What matters is what you did and what you learned, not what you had. Now what you have can influence what you are able to do, so that seems a good guideline for getting. So matter matters to the degree it is energy. If you go rescue a friend or loved one from being stranded somewhere with your car, the car mattered just not directly. Our bodies need certain conditions; food, shelter and continuation of those to the offspring. Do we add on many illusory needs beyond that? I think that is a grey area. I won’t say we don’t,… Seek More
I know I may seem like the stereotypical sex obsessed male, but when you give your body place, and sex is the most powerful force to encourage that (that or strife), then your consciousness changes. Your engagement with all of life changes. I’m using it not from obsession, but from its actual primacy in consciousness, and I am using it on purpose. It is in a sense freeing it from its commercial use. They say sex sells. They are right, but people don’t think that through. They just see female eye-candy and dismiss that with sex sells, not thinking any… Seek More
