The biggest source of futility is actually “trying” and people try a lot. It’s huge in about every social circle.

Futile is what logic is when you try to use it in place of creativity. That’s true. Logic is a form of trying, and usually very trying, especially if it’s supposed to replace experience. When you have the experience, you don’t have to “make it logical.” Everything has its own order or “logic” to it, readily available for the reviewing “after” the fact though. There is a reason why that’s a saying. It’s always after the fact, not before. If it’s a priori, it’s futile.

So it’s like saying you don’t like something when you have never experienced it? It’s exactly like that, or like saying you don’t believe in something because someone told you you shouldn’t.

They say insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. So we’re all insane. We are all at least a little bit insane. It’s how the system wants us to be. It’s considered common wisdom. “That’s just how it is…”, but we need to get crazy rather than insane. Insanity is just an ugly mess, but the crazed are very engaged, down right inspired.

We use a lot of terms, but not in a positive way: girl crazy, boy crazy, crazy like a fox. Funny how these all have natural roots, and seem very supportive of life rather than destructive. Your thoughts?

Nothing feels futile when you’re feeling crazy. Exactly.

When things are real, down-to earth, that’s when they are least futile.

The Wright brothers were down right crazy and now we fly, and they didn’t do their work for pay. Neither did Einstein originally. They did it because they “had to.” Something inside them called them to do it.

Futility is the lack of inspiration. Futility is. They are mutually exclusive.

“Hearing voices”! Indeed… Hearing voices. Seeing visions. Visualizing things that don’t exist. Figuring out how the unreal can be real. What concrete creative act isn’t crazy? Can you name one?

If you listen, it is what inspiration is all about.
