What it really means to be limitless is not to be superman or all powerful, but to understand that stuff happens and that you are a part of that stuff. You happen in the exact same way all the rest of it does.
Events are limits. We perceive events not by their substance or actual energy, but by their limit, their event horizon.
So not pushing limits but accepting them? Accepting them. In the sense that you accept the street you are driving on, but you still manage to get to the corner store.
I get annoyed with people lamenting they can’t handle something. I think of course you can. People think they are defined by life events. They have it backward. It’s you who define life events. They are a part of your body and an act of your mind.
So all the bad things that have happened to me, I actually happened to them? Exactly. You happened to a virus, and you were devastating. You happened to a yogurt culture, and it was horrible.
I happens? Yes, and I happens all over the place. I is the universal rule.
But who will clean me up? The same one who dirtied you. You are a process of manifestation, but people think they cannot manifest events. That they are divorced from the things that happen to them. You cannot be separated from anything that happens to you, because it doesn’t happen to you. It happens in you. Everything is a perception as well as an event, and that which you cannot perceive is totally unavailable to you. Yet it seems like you fail to anticipate things a great deal doesn’t it?
Why do we fail to anticipate things that happen to us? We appear to fail to foresee things for a simple reason. We are in denial about what limits are.
My limits are my perceptions? We’re not looking? Hence we sometimes use that phrase, “I saw that coming.” Exactly. Our eyes are doing us. We aren’t doing anything with our eyes.
Trying to keep busy so we don’t have to think about limits. If we don’t think about limits, we can keep believing in them. This is explained to some degree in the Pali Canon of India. We have accepted a model of life as defined by the senses, and thus we don’t direct the senses or actually see that life that concerns us so greatly. We think that all these biological functions are the substance of reality, the total fabric of necessity. If this is so, then why would we fail to see anything as we live a life defined by the senses? Why aren’t we content with a life of the senses, and how is it we have the presence of mind to declare reality to be unfair?
Could it be that we actually want to be surprised? That is a big part of it, indeed.
Our eyesight only sees a very slim part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Our senses inform only a fraction of reality, but our reality is part of the entire reality. Our faculties encompass the structure of all that can possibly happen in this reality. This is why when I tell you even the most bizarre things, you can imagine what they are like. You can conceive of unbelievable things for the simple reason that they are you. They are part of who you are. Where is there a limit there? You cannot perceive anything outside of your own substance.
Does the limit happen when we encounter it and decide what it is? Yes and no.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
