Idea of Perfection

Many people in life strive for perfection which can be any loosely defined notion. The very word itself is heavily loaded. Some believe that personal perfection is impossible to attain. They see it as an impossible state, but can perfection be considered any fixed form? If so then why does the universe itself seemed to resist any fixity or stasis? Even persistence is persistence in the context of other forces.

There is a correspondence to the Buddhist nirvana concept, but let’s look more deeply. It is defined as no disturbance, no resistance. Ego exists as an effort to define yourself as separate from others and the world around you.

Rather than collapsing duality, paradox is always reconciled by the third point. This is what allows reflection, which is a need of the universe. Many revile the existence of the duality, thus putting their egos above the greater life of the universe itself and they err.

Ego is not the only state of individuality. The avatars or light beings have all been examples of individuality beyond the ego state of consciousness. And what the Christ was saying in his message, the Buddha said it in the deconstruction of the self as people understand it. The potential to transcend the localized state of mind-spirit has always existed in us, but so far experimentation seems to have stutter stepped us forward.

We stand on the shoulders of giants and call them gods and in fact perhaps they are, but even the Christ can be quoted to say, “Have I not said ye are gods?” The relationship to the divine is both the biggest truth and to date the biggest stumbling block we face. We dwell on sin and failure, on ignorance, on imperfection and then wonder why we seem to be very stuck. The Christ said that the flowers of the field do not toil, yet prosper in their being.

Denial of the physical reality is a brick wall to those who would seek transcendence. They seek to transcend the medium of transcendence itself and thus try to operate in a void. Nature has no voids. In fact, the Buddha knew enlightenment before he ever new anything other than mortal life. The spirit knows no boundaries, but we forget spirit.

The world has forever encoded intuitive understandings in symbolism. I am fond of quoting many figures from the Native American medicine leaders to the ancient Norse eddas. Some may accuse me of dogma, but I follow an intuitive flow and speak what comes to me. The thousand things stem from the one.  To see the oneness, the myriad of things can be used as a mirror. I hope some of my thoughts help you on your path.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
