I’ve read stories of British explorers back in the 1800s. They would ignore the local ways as barbaric and try to use their own technology in the foreign land. It was insane and disastrous. It’s amazing how blind we can be. Yes, degenerating to behaviour much worse than the local cultures even fantasize about. The “savages” had the wisdom of the mother to guide them, so kept their sanity even if they didn’t display the so called sophistication of the British.
That part about the blinded human beast was an important element. We even symbolize our ideals that way. “Blind” justice. Justice is in no way blind, but human idealism is. Any idealism that speaks to the head while ignoring the heart is, dogma is, but my point is not to preach a sermon. I sometimes catch myself sounding that way. I don’t like it and I apologize for doing it. The point I mean to get at is that this perception we have cut ourselves off from can be recovered, perhaps is being recovered, thus the “epidemic” of neurodiversity in humans. Our bodies are forcing a return because our minds were remaining ignorant of the truth.
The rule is very, very simple, “life first”, and that’s not some right wing pro-life slogan. That’s not what I am getting at at all.
If we lived according to that rule, then the circumstances that lead to unwanted pregnancies would dwindle, because we wouldn’t have a social structure built up around concepts of social role and entitlement. We wouldn’t have people acting in ways because they were socially pressured to do so. No one would judge a single woman for being single, or a single man either, nor would they judge people who have partnered in a way they wouldn’t have chosen for themselves. With life first, force vanishes.
Life first starts with the heart, with a life fully felt and experienced it moves to the motives. With actions chosen not based on what social standing they would achieve, but on the experience they would provide for having participated in them, and last but not least, with an intellectual life shaped not by some artificial insistence of an artificial system of reason that satisfies an egotistical notion that “everything must make sense to me!”, but rather one that welcomes those whose seeking in the world has readied them for the understanding that is to be offered in that body of knowledge and group of students.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
