Why People Are Like That Today: People seem little willing to grant true meaning to anything they learn. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s something they were taught or something they learned from personal experience. They even deny the basis for anything being meaningful in the first place, instead claiming nonsense like rationality and supposedly obvious so-called facts as the reason for what they chose to do.
None of us are immune to sensation but many of us are resistant to the process of making sense of our sensory impressions, and instead they choose to substitute a filter of immaterial preconceptions and disingenuously self-centered prejudices.
The reason the truths of our life experiences aren’t immediately obvious is that most events are neither good or bad by themselves. It’s just an individual’s state of mind that makes them seem to be.
I’m not trying to offer baseless platitudes here. If everything struck us like either a blow to the stomach or a pat on the back, I think there would be a lot less of this egotistical politicking and useless debate undertaken only for the sake of sustaining so called authority.
In My Humble Opinion. What’s yours?
