A Martial Art

Is there any aspect of life that stands alone from all others?

I think love does. Love stands with everything, separate from nothing.

Death? They say we die alone.

Perhaps panic….

I don’t think there are any that stand alone.

Ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee. That awareness is taken to heart by one on the dark path.

Can you do good to your neighbour without ever doing harm? I offer that every good deed is an act of aggression. For every good thing that you would do, you are asserting your will on the world, and to a greater or lesser degree you always do harm. To cause an event to happen is to take power over resources that otherwise would have been at some other beings disposal.

These “resources” are available to all who would take power over them? Yes.

What is wrong with changing events? To change an event you must divert another event. Everything occurs because something else was excluded.

It is creation happening. It is destruction happening.

And birth. And death.

It’s the difference between the humble retiring monk and the super power leader? Wisdom. Today’s leaders often lack the wisdom of what they might actually accomplish, too concerned with petty, superficial gains. Take a plot of land and lose the world. Take the million dollars and lose the entire financial world. They tend to be too short sighted. It doesn’t mean that a super power leader could not achieve more than they have so far.

Take the plot of land and make your own world? Ah, that is the way of the monk. Take the moment and make a lifetime. Take a seat and see eternity. That is what people consider righteous ascension.

Ruling with an open fist is wisdom? You have to have an open fist to take the infinite.

I’ve thought of myself as a ‘monk’ for about thirty years, now. I believe there are many monks in the world. They just aren’t all members of an order, and both the monk and the world master are pursuing expediency, or could be.

I used to make wine but no martial arts, except Tai Chi (if that’s still one of those). Oh, Tai Chi is still a martial art. In fact, that gives another reference point for dark ascension. Regular ascension could be called a mystic art. Dark ascension would be a martial art as opposed to a mystic art.

So yes, that path of ascension as people feel it’s properly pursued is a mystic art. Seeking unity through harmony. The dark path of ascension is a martial art. Seeking liberation through exhaustion when all things have been confronted, all challenges faced and mastered.

But don’t we do both all the time? Actually, people tend to fall more into conflict or into agreement, like having a preference for the right hand or left. To this point, ascension is what they call the right hand path. Dark ascension is the left hand path.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
