Anger can take two forms, either a galvanizing certainty which is solid and even helpful, or a misdirecting blindly destructive and poorly understood berserking which is destructive.
Is this also why you may speak in anger, but actually speak constructively in anger? Yes. I have gotten very angry before and when upset behaved very focused and rational. Anger can serve. You master it or it masters you, but you don’t master it by denying it. With reflection you can come to see that you can both allow the anger and still chose. But if you feel guilt, guilt feeds anger. If you feel shame, shame feeds anger. If it’s “bad” to be angry, every time you get angry you will feel bad and get much angrier.
To move from one kind to the other, the key is finding its focus instead of trying to get rid of it? Yes. You can choose how an instinct will manifest when you get over the idea that you choose the instinct itself. You don’t choose for your heart to beat or your lungs to breath. The brain is another organ and it works all on it’s own but in your awareness, in your experience, and perhaps I am a living example of this.
I have always been told we choose? You can choose what you will do based on what you understand. You don’t choose anger, but you do choose what you will do when angry. But you cannot choose if you do not understand, or rather you will not choose wisely. The reptilian brain, which we do all have, operates entirely on automatic. It has to. In nature the creature that hesitates and has to figure things out just dies, because the predator didn’t have to figure anything out and is coming for them in that very moment.
That reminds me of us, hesitating and dying of heart disease etc. They have even done studies. More heart attack related fatalities are linked to a nervous temperament than obesity. They have even discovered that there are multiple “healthy” homeostatic weight levels, and those chemical problems only really arise from radical fluctuation. All dis-ease is imbalance.
Tooth decay? Yes, actually. In the case of tooth decay it’s often an imbalance in cravings brought on by other issues, otherwise we actually crave things like greens and clean water. The whole body chemistry is not balanced so this impacts bacteria levels in the mouth as well as the whole body. Tooth decay comes from an overly acidic system.
In my case, my bloodstream is constantly flooded with aberrant amino acid strains. They are pyrogenic and are treated as pathogens raising my body temperature. They have connected higher core temperatures with an alleviation of “autism symptoms”. It’s my balance.
Today we’re the product of a debate between two individuals over 100 years ago. One said to ‘kill’ disease the other said to create balance. We know who won, and the one who won was a better politician. I’ve heard he changed his mind on his deathbed, but it was too late. The debate was between Louis Pasteur and Antoine Bechamp if you want to research it. ‘Kill it’ has proven a bad adaptive reaction if it’s singular in any species. It denies ongoing sustenance.
In this series of anger posts, has anything I have described contradicted anyone’s knowledge of themselves? Have I failed to provide an empowering understanding of anger or confidence that you can relate to it differently?
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
