The world operates with many different processes all at once. One set of processes being what ancient philosophers referred to as a law of sympathy, like attracts like, like effects like. But does reality show any real evidence of being dualistic? Is light really separate from dark, winter from summer?
No. It’s more like a continuum. All parts of the same cycles.
They seem related, intertwined, one needing the other.
When you attempt to understand and interact with the world through your fundamental metaphysical connection to it, you can’t really isolate one part and just work with that. You interact with the whole world or none of it. This is why a lot of technology and science has had such negative consequences. They were interacting with the whole world, but ignoring larges parts of it. So by attempting to force one thing to behave a way they wanted, they set up a complex set of stresses that had a natural and even perhaps logical outcome.
Everything you would want to change, exists not by itself but in the conditions that favor it and are sympathetic to it. So my earlier question about your success with the law of attraction, was to check in about what you may have noticed happening. The simple act of noticing something you would want to change, something you would like to nurture into emergence, sets up a tension between you and your intended goal.
I do not view it as change. I view it as create. I can’t change anything but I can create lots. All creation is change. Nothing can exist that didn’t at first have its elements in pre-existing reality.
What motivates us to interact with the world in this way?
We are creators. We are god. We are evolvers and devolvers. Growth and atrophy are the outcomes of our actions. Life and disease. We are motivated to create change because we want. We recognize want. We desire a condition to emerge around us, or within us, but we take no action without want, without desire. Is this unfair to say? This desire creates a sense of separation between your current condition and the desired outcome.
So “want” is recognizing a lack of something? Yes. Want is the yin state of potential.
The world of matter revolves around the axis of energy. The world of action revolves around the axis of reaction. Desire emerges as a reaction. We desire food when we react to the state of hunger, for example. So, as you begin to manifest the changes that put you in sympathy with your desired change, your desired goal or condition, you also create the reaction that will lead to further desire. Manifest money say, and you also manifest more money worries.
It’s not really one person against the world. It doesn’t need to be. You oppose yourself with all the intensity necessary to frustrate your efforts.
All conditions exist in relationship or sympathy to all other presently existing conditions. There is an overarching sympathy in any moment and every moment. There are no closed systems, really. When mostly people try to create change by any method, they create in resistance to this. They want to ignore some part of reality at that time, negate something because they feel that’s the only way the thing they desire can happen. There is no such thing as a void. There are states of disorder though. The desire to create space creates loss. You can’t interrupt any condition without dissipating the same energies that brought you there in the first place.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
