Free Your Will

I need to back track a little bit. Let’s work with a magickal thought. Sleep brings change. Can everyone agree with that?

Can you really die from lack of sleep? Yes. There is a rare genetic disorder that stops people from sleeping. They don’t live past their thirties.

Is it because of the lack of change that you die? Exactly.

So in magickal thinking any part of sleep is as good as sleep. It’s power is whole even if you are only touching a part of it. So trance can bring change. Meditation can bring change. Day dreaming can bring change.

So magick uses the components of sleep to do what sleep does. They tell you to lay down and close your eyes, tell you to slow your breathing, because these are parts of sleep and sleep is part of dreaming. Dreaming is part of thinking. So sleep is journeying as well.

Are day dreams any less important than sleep dreams? Not according to magick, just often less on purpose. In sleeping, you give full attention to dreams, while daydreaming you often resist it in part. So the mixed point of view keeps it from doing anything, or from doing very much.

So the reason you have free will is because everything is free will, but only if you free your will.

Stop trying and start doing? Yes. If you insist on being between this and that, you will be neither this nor that, and you will have no power, make no progress.

Sometimes it’s not easy to tell right away which side is best. Because that is a mistaken notion. It’s what leads to fatalism in the first place.

We as a people tend to think of things as good and bad. Desirable or unwanted, but these things do not exist. There is only free will, and no choice. You don’t actually make choices.

I hate being torn. I ask them, “I don’t know, what do you think?” And then they tell me and I still can’t decide. Because there is no basis to choose on. You have free will, because you are a part of all things, and until you can take part in all things you can influence nothing. Some people try to create a shelter against unwanted things by trying to bury themselves in things they judge as holy.

I do want to have cake and eat it too. I just want cake. Indeed, and you have the satisfaction of having the cake, and then keep your freedom to move on.

I want to eat the cake, but not have it. Very cerebral, but also very broken.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
