Karma is sort of a tricky topic. Karma isn’t a force unto itself. It is more an aspect of other forces in life, like thought and emotion. Everything that transpires around us, and in us, has a karmic trait to it. A degree of impact, and it doesn’t have an effect entirely of its own merit. Nothing that happens, happens all by itself.
People mostly think of karma as being an idealized justice system and this is mistaken. As a force by itself, it doesn’t even exist. It’s more of a quality. A facet of other forces. Any thought, emotion or action carries weight and has a measure of substance behind it. It is sort of like a psycho-spiritual mass. This aspect of its existence could be called karma.
The forces don’t exist in a void. They are an interplay of various forces from countless sources, counterbalanced or outweighing other factors. In the end, like the masses dealt with in physics, they play out often in ways people can’t anticipate since they are still inclined to dismiss things (like that as they are). For me, like many things, it is very tangible.
It is sort of the force behind the law of attraction, but they over simplify that terribly. Right now, feeling my own worthlessness has a karmic weight. It is a psychic force being generated by me and others can feel that weight, potentially. They will react in one way or another, either making this force snowball or dampening it. The energy also has an attenuating factor. If the thought originates only in me, it tends to gravitate to me. But if the thought arises in me from another factor, say another person, it spreads more. Because as the Hermetic philosophers say, like attract like. This is true in science as well. Thus the more karmic mass any spiritual force builds up, the more it manifests. More impact. There are karmic tides in general. They are very predictable and are a sort of spiritual homeostasis, but abnormalities can occur.
What are the abnormalities in karma? Well, earth isn’t a closed system. Not in science and not in the spirit, which is really just as concrete as science if you see it for what it is. So just as all our spiritual turbulence affects each other, it spreads and is impacted by energies from non terrain sources. When you start to follow your spiritual path there can be an unleashing of pent up karmic influences. You can judge if you’re on your path because potential energy becomes kinetic and picks up an inertia. I am more on my own, but it took a lot of decay in my life to bring me here.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
