Now let’s keep it simple. Infants need a rattle, and a mobile, things to examine and interact with that don’t scare them.
Ever do that trick where you wet your finger to feel the wind direction a bit better? You can wet your mind. It has a number of reflexes that make it feel bare-naked, and we are taught to fear them, but we always go back to them anyway. Those strange vulnerable little moments where for just a second, things seem to make absolutely no sense.
We accidentally induce trance on a routine basis, while driving, while losing ourselves in music, while taking a walk. How often do you get little interruptions that you mistake for confusion? How often do you feel like maybe you are lost, if just for a second? I mean literally lost, like you don’t know where you are?
Often, and I try to capture what I was thinking. Yes, and that mucks the whole situation up. You don’t have to put the lie back up, but you don’t have to take the plunge either, not entirely. Like an infant, you can play peek-a-boo with it. With increased practice, it becomes easier to tolerate, less scary, then the world begins to look really different.
I’ve never tried acid, would that help? Not really. People have insufficient training to utilize an artificial neurotransmitter. They don’t consciously use the ones they have. It would be like smearing paint across the text of a book. Yes, you can do it, but it defeats the point.
But you can experiment with diet change. Any simple change to blood chemistry stimulates the nervous system. Any stress can be used for this same purpose, if you know how. Intense sex, a long jog, really enthusiastic dancing, even hard core worry. If people really put their spiritual back into worrying, they would lose all respect for worry. It actually feels good, and is just a twist of the real human behavior like insisting on walking backwards. If you wise up a bit, you realize that having a choice of ways to walk is really more sensible.
I enjoy worrying about my friends. Then practice extreme worrying. Make it an adrenaline sport. If it’s not radical, you aren’t doing it right.
Everything I described is ecstasy. Ecstasy gives you a sense of direction, and I don’t mean the drug.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
