Exactly which spirits are your night guides, your influences in the night side of nature, that is unique to you. But no matter how well versed in the light you are, the night side will come to you as well, and if you just rush through it, ignore what happens in that stage of your life, well… You weaken whatever light you might value. Does this not ring true?

When you see Anubis, what would you say? When challenged by Cerberus, what would you do? Anubis has questions for you, and you may end up feeding the devourer if you attend poorly. Anubis’ questions are simple. He actually has three. That is the way according to Egyptian lore.

The two relevant to the topic of Night Guides are first he asks, “Did you know joy in life?” Then he asks, “Did you bring joy to one other?”

I guess the only poor answer is a false one. Yes. The only poor answer is a false one. Your heart is measured against a special feather. Your heart grows heavy only with lies.

The night guides all really carry one message. Do you know what it is?

Be true to yourself. Which means you will be the natural outgrowth. Be true to your inner spirit, and thus true to everyone.

It’s not a challenge to tackle in a short time. It is something that occurs over a lifetime, perhaps multiple life times. It was said that is what occurred for the Buddha, and is why all those stories of the shamans spirit journeys speak not of one challenge, and then they lived happily ever after. They encountered multiple challenges in their entire careers.
