The Tyr rune is the rune of force, but people do not understand force. They use it unwisely. They try to force everything, by force accomplish everything, and just as in war this is always unfortunate. There is always loss.
To use force wisely you must understand its way, see fullness of force and emptiness. All forceful interaction is an exchange. You tire an opposing force by retreating from it. It will over extend, play itself out. Clash with it and you will only accomplish your goal poorly, if at all.
Perhaps it was never your challenge to begin with. No challenge belongs to anyone. It’s all one big storm. Everything that happens is an exchange of energy, an exchange of force, and it all starts from a calm center. All aggression is motivated by desire, something that was originally at peace. Never move in opposition to someone’s apparent intention, that sets your force against their force, and you will both bleed. Always direct your energy toward their soft center, move toward what they value. They will split their attention away from yours. This shows up in the practice of diplomacy. Can you settle an argument by arguing the contrary of what the other person says?
It goes nowhere. That is direct conflict, and it only leads to wasted breath, and even worse tension between you and the person you argued with. But if you sense what moved them to state their opposing opinion, to contradict your own observation, can you fail to neutralize their argument? Statements can be rational, arguments never are.
Is any effort we make ever not a conflict? Can you make an effort without force? How well do our efforts usually go?
Force meaning energy? Yes. Is their force without energy? No.
Now you can shape force. Using the yin principle, seeming weak, you invite activity on the other person’s part. Appearing strong, you discourage effort on the other person’s part. Making your strength match their own “softness”, directing your energy at their heart, you can come to know everything they will do before they undertake it. You can make allies out of enemies, but how would you do that?
Present our softness to their strength? Yes, and direct your strength at their intended goal. You do that before you even take action, before they even know what you intend to do. You align yourself with the very goal that will take their attention out of your way, even direct their attention to helping you as it will help them also.
Get their enemy to attack them and then act like you are aiding them? Indeed.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
