Buddhism is a very old “faith”, primarily concerned with a path of seeking and a body of practices with a code of conduct. The code of conduct is referred to as the eight fold path, focused more on elements of life style and courses of action. Buddhism seeks liberation from the cycle of attachment and pain in life.

“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become.” Buddha

Buddha nature itself is radiant, like the sun. Buddhism originated in India. Wuxing originated in China, and Wyrd originated in Europe. This forms a map of the Buddha nature.

“Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.” Buddha

“To understand everything is to forgive everything” Buddha

“You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.” Buddha

    Buddhism and Buddha

Buddhism isn’t what many perceive it to be. It is a very old “faith”, but doesn’t center on concepts of worship as most understand them today. It’s primarily concerned with a path of seeking and a body of practices with a code of conduct. The code of conduct is referred to as the eight fold…

    Buddhist Teaching

The eightfold path breaks down the aspects of life, and elaborates on how they are reached and what they are like. Most schools of Buddhist thought are not “dogmatic”, so you can find many texts with very broad opinions, even by modern authors. This is no break from Buddhist teaching. They refer to life in…

    Learning, Education, Enlightenment

When I give my talks I tend to just go with the flow of inspiration, regrettably it means I sometimes “leave no trace”, even in my own mind. I like the format of these discussions, going with the flow. It gives all a chance to talk and is more interactive. People learn by doing, not…

  • You Are All Things

    You Are All Things

Today we are talking about a concept most clearly described by the traditions of Buddhism but one that is indeed present in other traditions as well if you know where to look. The Buddhists call it Buddha nature. The primary concern in Buddhism was and is to find the genuine self, and their observations, as…

  • Weight of Wyrd

    Weight of Wyrd

Shall we go outside of Buddhist thought for more information on Buddha nature? The Norse had a concept called wyrd, pronounced weird, and it was the seed around which your personal life events or circumstances unfolded. In the concept of wyrd, it may seem there is a sort of fatalism. In fact, the word almost…

    Navigating Your Wyrd

How you get around the influence of wyrd is treating it like a wind condition while you’re trying to practice archery. You still take your shots but you adjust for the wind direction and force. This is the essence of what the Norse called seethe or weaving, and is really the origin of the concept…

  • Metaphor of the Sword

    Metaphor of the Sword

Last we spoke of wyrd. The next system is wuxing. Buddhism originated in India. Wuxing originated in China, and wyrd originated in Europe. The reason I say this is this forms a map of the Buddha nature these things occur in. They are all human. They all arise from the same mind and for the…

    Flow of Chi

In wuxing everything is chi. What gives rise to the apparency of all the countless things is a process of filtering. Chi filtering down through one state into another, each point influencing the next one down the stream, but it’s all still one united stream of energy. In wuxing, insight, things and circumstances seem to…

    Epic Story Arc

For those of you who are literary types, can you insert a new character in a story just anywhere? It wouldn’t be as effective as it could be if you did. It wouldn’t make sense. Effectively, you break continuity and suspension of disbelief. Well, the material world is a harsh editor. It will not allow…
