Thought Takes Shape

How do shapes effect us spiritually and psychologically? They make us think. Different shape, different thought. Every thought takes shape in our mind. Can you see a shape and not start organizing your thoughts? When you see a strange object on the ground, does it not take just a moment of your time for your perception to organize and tell you what it is? Is that junk plastic or my credit card? Do you automatically know?

We run down a list quickly. Oh indeed, that’s higher level perception there. That’s summarized perception, but our every thought, and thus our every feeling, revolve around shapes. The soft curve of a lovers smile, the small form of our child at play, the intimidating and rigid structure of a court of law.

The horror of mixing plaids with strips. That triggers a sense of disordered thought, but let’s even go there. For those who like to buck convention, do those horrific things with fashion, they usually have a point they anchor things around, like the plaids and stripes and polka dots. They will usually do something like wear all of these against a solid black background, as if to say, “This is how I myself, see these.”

There is a theme, usually a message they’re trying to convey. I guess that’s the difference between art and a mess? The message or theme behind it? It’s fun to see people’s reactions too. Indeed, even a prank is a point of view. Comedy exists only to the degree that one can artfully adopt and express absurd points of view. So ultimately, we are all trying to get our perception into one shape. Can you guess what that is?

Round? Circle? Doughnut? With coffee? Exactly, actually to both points. We try to get our perceptions to look round, because that tells us they are real, and that we are in touch with reality. And well, the doughnut shape tends to go unnoticed. That torus is why we perceive ourselves to be in here looking out there. If we can feel that central space, we can more easily organize and consciously shape our perception and thus behaviour. So yes, you are indeed a doughnut,

Jelly doughnut? Excellent. Actually yes, you are a jelly doughnut. Jelly behaves like a plasma structurally. Cohesive but really sensitive to jiggle.

I hope I’m not a Twinkie. You would have to be authoritarian to be a twinkie.

Even the correspondence between bee search patterns and memory recall patterns in the human brain is geometric, and generally round.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
