You Change the World

People commonly declare that you can’t change the world. This is a popular and very superficial observation, meaningless really. Your actions arise from the process of the world. Changes of your state are changes in the world. Changes in your belief are changes in the world. Change your behaviour and you change the world. Yes, I mean the whole world. Sound crazy?

No, it makes sense especially in a world that is so interconnected now.

To say you can’t change the world is to deny that you live, that you exist, or that anything you love, value or believe in exists. Just as a grain of sand drives a clam to form a pearl, you create an objective change in the world around you. You may not recognize the changes as being caused by you because they don’t necessarily conform to your personal intentions.

The reason they don’t conform, when they don’t conform, is because we are trained to ignore the greater context around us. We ignore our connection to it. We ignore our sensitivity to it. We ignore our instincts that show us how the genuine real world will respond because we are too busy thinking, imagining and planning other things. Are we even really aware of our presence as an energy in our world?

Not usually. Energy is only measurable through change, only visible in motion. Even the things we consider to be matter are energy in motion. We are systems of energy of a much greater magnitude than the superficial locus of our body. You can eat food because the relationship between your body and the food already exists. It’s a pre-established condition. So how is the food separate from your body? You can perceive sights because the possibility of vision was a pre-existing condition.

We are like the capacitor and the transistor on a circuit board. Our bodies are, yes. The mind is not located in the body, it’s in the whole system. It’s in the light your eyes see, in the matter you hear sounds from, in every system that what you think of as yourself is embedded in. Can there be you without the system around you? Can you see whatever you decide to see? Everything in your being is in the world. In the world, and the world is in you.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
