We have lives. We have a need and not only that. We have a desire to work if only the literal sense of doing something. Yet as Pink Floyd says “All in all you’re just another brick in the wall”.

How many agree that life is what they want? While some clever but still limited leader type sees how the machine works and is busy poking buttons, he doesn’t really know how it works and thus businesses routinely fail. But it isn’t an innocent business they are working, it’s us.

Money isn’t real, people are. Wal-mart isn’t real, it’s an idea that we link to a building and play trade with objects. All this trade, is it real? What are you really getting? Do you get as much as your boss does? Why should he get more?

Lots of stuff. I like George Carlin’s take on “stuff“ the best. He has a good view of it. George Carlin is a very brutally perceptive person, or was. What he saw and spoke of is right here. He just chose to talk about it. Even in the case of spiritual traditions, what they see and talk about if it’s real at all is right here, and they are just talking about it. If we are walking together along a path and happen across a venomous snake, if I see it and you don’t, talking will matter a great deal will it not? Yet we say talking is a waste of time. Is it?

Talking, if you are not being truly heard, is a waste of time. Hearing, if they are not truly talking, is a waste of time. Waste = dissonance, static, inaction, speech, even intention, but can we tune in a radio by whining at it and complaining that someone told us it would fix itself but it isn’t? We whine at the world that we live in, because someone else is supposed to fix it. Obama is supposed to fix it. Aliens are supposed to fix it. God is supposed to fix it. God, if we could all hear him, would be saying “I gave you the remote”. We have the remote. It’s an amazing tuner capable of really strange and powerful feats of focus, but right now most people are loaning it out to someone else.

I think perhaps it is necessary to examine the source of dissonance when it appears, and try to listen more to what is actually being communicated than what is spoken in words. The disadvantage to that is the potential to guess wrong? You need not guess. The mind is equipped with faculties, even if you don’t go into the paranormal, that will tell you where the dissonance is. The discovery of the mirroring nervous system, auto and heterogeneous hypnotic phenomenon. If you feel depressed about a friend and don’t know why… Well, even science says it’s very likely they are depressed. Every living thing on this planet mirrors really, really well. We just have to look at the mirror.

I will leave you with this to think about. Can you really imagine a “dead” mind? Having mind, but no life or anything to do with life based thinking. Mind with no life. Life with no mind. This working for you?
