The fires shifted, as energy is inclined to. Matter or earth was born of fire, as valid as fire, and it was the necessary factor for the process of condensation. Water. Mother earth gave us the waters, and from the waters arose the firmament, the air. And air and water gave us the chance for life. So in a sense fire “threatens” life, but it was also the origin though not gentle. Even the huge fire at the heart of our galaxy is still needed for our life. So fire is the most primal, but not necessarily is it “best” for us.
Each element is a spiritual as well as material fact. To use astrology, some people are more attuned to the process of entropy and reactivity which are the fire signs. The earth signs give structure, order, stability.
We are born of every element. No sun, no life on the planets surface. Yet in finding our primary, we find our root. The roles we play in life often can have a very obvious elemental symbolism.
Fire is primary even for a water astrological sign? No, in your personal life though the metaphysics of the material world are one way, you are still more attuned to one phase of these energies than another. Some more nurturing and flowing (water), others more orderly and supportive (earth), many free and perceptive (air), and also those who are catalytic and engaged (fire). I use the word phase on purpose. All energy is one, but we are not served by knowing that truth alone.
Don’t we contain all even though one is dominant? Yes, we do contain all influences. I can be orderly and supportive even though fire is my dominant trait, or gentle and nurturing, or free and open and perceptive, but they will all be colored by my basic trait.
Can a person have only one element? Functionally yes, yet we must all strive to learn all elemental traits to live as a rounded being. Literally we do need to know the cycle. In Chinese elemental symbolism there are two paths. The cycle of creation and the cycle of destruction run direct lines in opposition to each element. A five pointed star which runs the circle.
Would you agree with terming a cycle of creation a phase spiral and only a circle from a particular viewpoint? Yes. A spiral that moves in repetition. Change in phase is not just progression around a circle, there’s another dimension. Like the nesting circles of a mandala, progressively expansive.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
