Divination & Positive Thinking

Divination is not foolishness. It’s just encoded intuitions about life. You get from divination the wisdom you bring to it. It is not a pointless exercise because the gnosis is there. When the student is ready the master appears.

When you have the ears to hear and the eyes to see then divination works. When you can receive, you will receive. When your cup is full then no wisdom can be added. To say only this idea is true, to declare at this moment I know the only truth about this moment, that is why new insight is not reached. Often this is why we repeat mistakes. We say this is fixed. It isn’t the event, events never are fixed. When we say “this is the way it is”, what we are declaring is the way we are and nothing truly about the event. This is why Job in the Bible declared, “For alas, that which I have greatly feared has come to pass.” It was his thinking of his view that made it so. He did not defer to the “logos” which is often mistakenly translated as “word” but also means “logic”, the greater way. That he was unable to avoid his fear, he manifested what he didn’t desire.

People routinely become frustrated with positive thinking expecting it to have more power because it’s supposedly a more wholesome or holy principle. But in general they discover that they just fall back into their conditioned thinking. Consider the Taoist symbol of balance, the yin and the yang. People seek liberation, thinking that is purging themselves of darkness. That never works. To “think positively” you must think clearly and if you would avoid the manifestation of dark thoughts you cannot avoid it by trying to not think them. Darkness must be seen and seen in the context of the greater light, not purged but brought into balanced insight.

At times it’s misidentified. Often times we declare a feeling or thought dark in the sense of being unworthy when in fact it’s the right action. But we hesitate and then become lost due to a fear of the dark. How can we know this is darkness versus right action? When you see the darkness within you. Don’t see it only when immersed in it. That is the error. Some people reject it until it overtakes them. See your anger when calm. See your fear when at peace. When you see the darkness in you when you are “in the light” you see the whole picture and when it returns to you, as it inevitably does, you will know it and make decisions based on the deeper wisdom you obtained earlier.

It is when you are strong that you should confront your weaknesses. And know that your strength was gained from what you might consider weakness. You don’t become patient because it’s just somehow holy to be patient. You become patient because life taught you patience. It was tested. To embrace all of your power shy away from nothing in yourself. Some might think I embrace a negativistic philosophy because of how I present myself. The truth runs strongly contrary to that prejudice. I merely embrace my inner demons knowing that they are part of the whole that is my being.

Do I ‘bitch’ at people when I feel the need? Yes. I watch the thought first but I don’t “hold it in.” If in seeing the urge to bitch I see any wisdom in my disturbance, I speak freely. A Greek philosopher was once asked how he became so wise. He and the student were gathered at a well as was common in the day. He proceeded to grab the students head and quickly thrust it under the water and hold it there for a while. Then when he let him up, the student asked him aghast, “Why did you do that?” He said when you want wisdom like you wanted air then it comes naturally. When you are disturbed by an event, it often is a perfect opportunity for wisdom to emerge.

So a very abused child may grow up wise? I know some who have, personally having been one myself.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
