I remember reading about how DNA can change inside an organism. It’s not as fixed as people think it is even in a life span. This is an established fact, and an otherwise stable gene may have no physical impact on you, because when the right material bonds to that gene it gets shut off.

Can we change our own DNA? It’s true that you can sensitize or desensitize your cells to different neurotransmitters and other hormones. Change the molecules the cell has that accept bonds with outside compounds, and this affects DNA reproduction when that cell finally fissions. Bombard a cell with adrenaline and you will grow more adrenaline sensitive or insensitive cells from it.

How would I condition my cells to not react to things that are toxic to it? There is a degree of toxicity that nothing in the cell is equipped to deal with, but what sort of toxicity do you mean?

Cadmium, or salt. They do that on their own a bit, but you can recruit helpers, though odds are this would make you feel sick. Chemicals often target specific organs in the body, but your heart does have opinions about what goes into your stomach, and your brain does care about what fills your blood and bladder. You can engage other parts of your body that don’t normally deal with toxins and make them send energy to the part that is dealing with it. In fact, a gland in the brain sends the chemicals that all of your other glands need to function at all. But yes, you talk the stomach into purging something in the liver and it will do it. You will develop weird symptoms but it will do it. You might be better off asking the body to tell you which parts of it will help, and what outside help might be valuable. You can talk to skin into bleeding or blistering also, but this doesn’t serve much of a purpose.

I like the idea that everything has a spirit and personality. You probably intuitively recognize that it’s the truth. Even when our planet is so much cosmic dust, its spirit will still survive and in time congeal into yet another cosmic body. Artists make great shamans.

It always make me think of Alice in Wonderland. Indeed. Alice in Wonderland is more realistic than most people think.
