Lifestyle Of The Newly Awakened

On to lifestyle. When newly awakened your old lifestyle will look like it’s a total mess. Like you went and ruined your life and it can seem like you will never recover. This isn’t true.

Some parts of your old life will still feel the same, supportive and familiar. Other parts won’t feel bad, but they won’t make sense anymore. Yet others will just feel wrong and you will lose any liking for them. It will still seem like you’re losing your mind. You’re not. In fact, you have more of your mind than you did, and will discover that those things you don’t like anymore you never really did. You will just lose your tolerance for spiritual dead weight. The things that you feel ok about, but don’t make any sense anymore… Again, those things haven’t changed.

It happens at varying rates? It can happen suddenly or more gradually. When you discover some part of your life doesn’t make sense anymore, it’s just because your mind has cleared and it didn’t make sense to you in the first place.

Now the parts left over, those things that still make sense and you still want. You should indeed keep those. In this case, it’s best to trust your instincts. When you are undergoing huge change, the impulse is to make things as simple as possible. Trust this. You will expand later and grow from the surviving roots. Even the confusing stuff might fall away if you do this, because something coming from the root of your new life will replace it.

What is simple for you may be complex for others? Some people really benefit from a guide. Someone who they have a strong rapport with and trust, because yes, it can be hard to sort it all out. And well, even before awakening you might have had a spiritual/metaphysical practice you preferred. It is often best just to stick with that and apply your new awareness to it. Ask your guide to show you how your practice can give you ways to express this awareness.

I’m wondering how many mid-life crisis is actually awakening, but often gone bad because our society doesn’t understand it? This is why wizards and witches are often shown as old. Just because a person doesn’t look so weathered at age 30+ anymore doesn’t mean the awakening age has changed.

But now a days you often won’t be able to recognise a Witch or Wizard. Often not. In part, because a lot of old lore has been lost. In part, because the spiritual climate of the world has changed. We don’t live in the same world as they did anymore, but their insights are still valid. The essence or spirit of them.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.

    Thanks for this entry.

I’d like to add a few notes for the continuation, departing from the last indent.

“But now a days you often won’t be able to recognise a Witch or Wizard. Often not.”

Remember the Middle Ages where witches were burned, usually innocent. Now, you may be isolated but allowed to live. Only in a few periods being a witch is a trend or considered a valuable alternative, but over time this is rare.

“In part, because a lot of old lore has been lost.”

Really? We should just plug into and use the collective unconciousness, combining your intuitive insights and the knowledge stored in the Earth. Reproduction and clarity upon sharing will be a challenge, and not available for all. This may seem arrogant, and it makes sense at the same time. We don’t want the Craft to be abused, do we? And we don’t want people meddling with forces they can’t work with, let alone understand.

“In part, because the spiritual climate of the world has changed. We don’t live in the same world as they did anymore.”

The world is changing all the time and so are we. There is a reason for us to live in this world, right now, so let’s make the most of it.

“but their insights are still valid. The essence or spirit of them.”

I can’t agree more, except for the word ‘but’. Replace it by ‘and’.

So, let’s get challenged and exchange whatever we have of the old lore, adapt it to our needs and share the outcome.

    Bright blessings,
