I’d love nothing more than to never have to work for food or shelter again. It has always been necessary to seek shelter and food and always will be, just the nature of the seeking will change. This seeking is sacred.
We seek these things too rarely. We have lost much of our ability to discern what it is we need to take for ourselves, and what we would be better off leaving for others. We just take everything, or at least a lot of things. We are encouraged to. It’s called consumerism. Another name for it would be capitalism which is a reaper of souls, ours, even before we’re dead.
In Native Hawaiian culture we’re not allowed to take more than necessary. One fish, nuf for tonight. There is wisdom in that. We actually lose our own strength and skill, our own wisdom, by trying to take in advance.
And so the fish hoarders came and took the rest for themselves. Our practise weakens, our sense of relationships and patterns, prediction and anticipation decays. We can’t help but lose our sense of direction in that situation, or so it would seem.
Even now, when I hunt for deer in the winter, I keep enough of the animal for what I will need to sustain my family, and what I think I won’t use I give to others who could use it. There is wisdom in that. You offset further need to kill by sharing the kill, and tribes always did. The hunter didn’t come back and say this is my kill, just for me or some small few I choose. It was just food and everybody ate. They hunted in groups for safety and for a larger yield in the hunt, but still never more than they needed. Certainly not more than they could carry personally. This is why many reapers were seen to take animal form. Why they call a group of crows a murder.
Just as there is a pattern to life, there is also a pattern to death. What they neglect to teach now is respecting the pattern of death. Do not take the strong from the herd, take the weaker, the straggler. Easier to carry, yes, and assures the continuation of that tribe just as you would want for your own.
So many of the developed nations are not allowed to see that this even exists. A year ago bulldozers came and knocked down the altars we had at seashore to dedicate to the taking of our fish. They only want our words in their coffee table books, not in our actions.
The pattern of death, the web of night, is not unintelligent, and it’s gotten very busy. Humans have been prodding it a great deal. Bacteria and viruses have been taking on new and incredibly advanced forms. This is not accidental. Various fungi have begun displaying new traits as well. My own disease influences cellular evolution, mutation, loosens the dimmer switch on cell reproduction.
The new bacteria et al .. yes, worrisome. Actually, the bacteria will do more than simply kill. They have even been supporting other forms of life. Monsanto has a new surprise, an epidemic of super weeds. Because they would not respect the way of the reaper, life itself has worked counter to their purposes and will continue to do so.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
