When I learned Daoyin, I started seeing the energy with my eyes (like the vibrations above a road on a hot day) around the person’s hands. It’s a bit like Tai Chi, but solely for healing purposes and not a martial art. It’s very powerful in generating chi flow in the body.
The senses pick up on a lot that people have forgotten, and trained themselves to ignore. With an understanding of chi, you can apply it in general practices of a lot of things.
And it can be used in Magick. Yes. There is a Chinese tradition that does.
We all use our chi whether we know it or not. Just in normal action, but it can be expanded beyond that. I use a chi trick to open stuck jars. Is true though, people actually block themselves with jar opening. They tense the muscles. If you focus your chi and just move your hand, opening is often easy.
I know. I use it with wood splitting too. Focus on the point of impact, relax, and let the axe do the work. Yes, or building it under an object you need to lift takes the strain out of lifting it. It‘s like an extension of your body. The major part of human strain is psychological anyway. People are generally much more powerful than they think they are.
As they prove in the Olympics with breaking records. Once one person does it, everyone starts, and slowly the world is waking up to that idea. Collective mind? They will declare a physical feat impossible, and it will seem that way, seem absolutely certain that no one can do it, then someone does and “reality” breaks yet again. It takes just one person if their deed is public knowledge, like an athlete. As soon as one person gives the public a model for doing it, other people figure it out quickly.
We seem to limit ourselves a lot that way. Limitations have their use, and nothing wrong with that, as long as it’s you they serve instead of you serving them. They protect us from harm at times. You have to have time to get a sense of direction. If you go aimlessly past limitation, then you falter. Intention is everything.
I learned that when I was little. I used to do gymnastics, and knew I could do a move when I could visualize myself doing it. If I couldn’t, I’d fail.
When will and imagination are in conflict, imagination always wins. Imagination can kill you, or heal you of “incurable” diseases. This is the indicator of effective spiritual / metaphysical practice. Ask if the vision is clear and emotionally compelling. If the answer is yes, then it can work. You stage a drama or make space for intentional focus in order to get the imagination on your side. Then the force of that does the rest almost on its own. If you include nature in that, then you can get it to help, also. Let, say, the Tao inform what you are imagining. This is the benefit of following a tradition.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
