Silent Killer

People in the name of ego will refuse to take risks, and make choices. So their freedom of action is very limited. They refuse to make a mistake so they refuse to do anything at all. Thus in the name of ego they withhold themselves. They withhold there own happiness (which is infectious and a great gift) in the effort to save face. So they save the flimsy ugly Halloween mask, and as long as they play the role of ‘never wrong’, they also are locked into ‘never right’ and out of the world itself.

Uncertainty is a “silent killer”, and comes from protecting ego. If no decision is made then nothing can be done wrong. Is this actually true? They have a value judgement of needing to be always right to be good.

By not making the decision it can be wrong. The fact of the matter is even the wisest person will make mistakes, and a mistake isn’t the mark of foolishness. So they create their own ego pain. Indecision can drain us of our energy, and is why I encourage that state of mind I spoke of. In that state you decide from your nature, which doesn’t always mean you are mistake free.

The group reaction to public mistakes is a painful one, but so is the group reaction to indecision. This is why I encourage finding that internal path which is an internalized locus of control. Indeed it’s a case of damned if you do and damned if you don’t, but here is a little secret. You need to do what you feel you need to do.  Old Indian wisdom said that if you are the one who sees what needs doing, then you are the one to do it. The uncertainty serves no one. I live by that, and I often don’t want to do it, but I am the one who sees it so I do it.

So, want to be great? Want to be a marvellous success? Be willing to be an utter failure, and realize that neither is you. You are powerful beyond measure. Fearing making mistakes is also fearing miracles.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
