At one point in human history, the ways of the world were almost entirely inscrutable, and people didn’t know how to make sense of all the weird things that could happen. They did their best to relate things they saw, or thought they saw, and to warn people. That’s why they started telling fairy tales, as a way of equipping people to see it coming. When you think of something as a presence that can get angry, then that means there is also a way to make peace with it, or defeat it if you judge it as evil.
Fairy tales can help us understand reality. We are not alone on earth, or in heaven, any heaven you choose to subscribe to.
