Category: Stress

Notice how anxious and stressed everyone is? About everything it seems. They will make it up if nothing is immediately brought to mind. Stress is any energy expended to overcome inertia, but a lot of our negative stress, if not all of it, comes from a rejection of the deeper way in favour of ego. There is another sort of stress, and it’s not distress. Dancing is stress, and they call it eustress. It is pleasure or joy. You are an actor friends, and you are also acted on. Everybody can dance in one way or another.

“Stress is nothing more than a socially acceptable form of mental illness” Richard Carlson

“In times of stress, be bold and valiant.” Horace (Ancient Roman Poet. 65 BC-8 BC)

“There are thousands of causes for stress, and one antidote to stress is self-expression. That’s what happens to me every day. My thoughts get off my chest, down my sleeves and onto my pad.” Garson Kanin (American Writer, Actor and Film Director, 1912-1999)

  • Overcoming Inertia

    Overcoming Inertia

This is a law of the universe. From physics, to chemistry, to biology, the world is a balance between two states; action and rest. Now commonly the default state is seen as rest and there are reasons to believe this, but even zero point resonance isn’t without energy. Is zero point just balanced? Basically yes,…

  • Do Something

    Do Something

Let’s take a routine activity. One we often don’t worry about. Someone want to offer one? Cleaning house? Ok, yes. For some people, house cleaning is very simple and not seemingly stressful. Some find it stress relieving. It is, but for one reason, and we can tap this reason in every stressful situation. When you are…

  • Renewal Cycle

    Renewal Cycle

Why does our stress effect physical health? Disruption of the renewal cycle. Stress is a big factor in heart disease is it not? It is yes, perhaps the biggest. The renewal cycle is a conversion between actual and potential energy. You must act and accept being acted upon, and if you fight this dynamic it’s like…

  • Always Contributing

    Always Contributing

There is no such thing as action and non action. The opposition there of, I mean. This is why non-action is such a good practice. When you step back from your acting, your words, or your agenda, like in meditation you can come to realize that nothing has actually stopped, and nothing actually does. People…

  • Don’t Fix It

    Don’t Fix It

I’m not praising group think, but even if you aren’t into group think, you are still a part of that.  You are a very important part, and the individualist is giving us something huge. So see your connections. They are your stressors and they are also your strength. Don’t “fix it.” What makes you think you…

  • Response Ability

    Response Ability

The world is very simple. So simple it seems to be hard for us to understand. Every physical science has as its bottom line patterns of action and rest. Any physical phenomenon works like this, and so do we. There is no such thing as a place without energy, or a time without energy for that…

  • War On Self

    War On Self

Sun Tzu wrote The Art of War. What is bigger and more scary than war? Anything? War is about as worse as it gets. Suppression is bad too. Oh, suppression is bad. Suppression is war on self, and people love their wars on self. They will fight them, because they are told they should. But…

  • Psychosis

    Psychosis

What is psychosis, really? Psychosis is very simple. We all are neurotic. If you do anything that doesn’t serve a practical purpose for you, that’s a neurosis. But if you can choose to do it or not, then that is what it stays, a neurosis. A psychosis is exactly the same thing, but minus choice.…

  • Being With Change

    Being With Change

Just learning to be ok with change can challenge some of us. This is true, it can be a challenge. But there is an old Arabic curse, “May your every wish be immediately fulfilled.” In all of your struggling to resist change, what if you said nothing can change? You just don’t like change, so…
