Substrate of Collective Memory

So, everything dreams. Everything dreams and research shows that the biggest portion of our genetic transformation takes place at night.

Everything dreams and the dreaming process follows the same rules of organic chemistry and physics. Long term memories are formed, old memories are weighed and their dominance adjusted in the connectome or just preserved. The difference between your genetics, between what your brain does and what the crow’s brain does that saw you walking today, is very small to non-existent.

This is a subconscious process, this sorting? Well, while you dream it’s the only thing you are conscious of. This is why you most often aren’t even aware you are dreaming at all. The actual confusion is that we honestly believe we do this thing we call waking up. We imagine it is somehow different from dreaming.

I was wondering if it were a chemical — or some other brain process, neither conscious nor subconscious. Well, there is a theory that our actual memory is not recorded in the organic structures of the brain at all, but instead in the electromagnetic pathways around our nervous system, perhaps especially our head. These have been proven to play a role in our brain’s function and clear intercommunication, and although not long ago they insisted that low degrees of electrical current and magnetic field contact should have no effect on the brain, this prejudice is proving to be very far from factual. While every species is awake our electromagnetic activity ranges far and wide. Each person having a distinct pattern as well as range of frequencies, sort of like vocal range, but instead for the brain. As much as our brains might range all over the bandwidth while we are awake, all brains fall into the same basic frequency while they sleep. All brains of all species, about 7 hrz.

A few weeks ago, I was feeling very worn down, some of my friends were too. It turns out there was a solar flare that day. Those do produce scientifically detectable changes in the earths ionosphere, it’s electromagnetic field. Even in mineral memory, rocks and crystals change their signature when exposed to strong energy shifts like that. They can tell when the last strong solar flare was by examining mineral electromagnetic signals.

So, electromagnetic impressions in minerals are a sort of memory, a collective memory. Indeed they are, and the earth itself has a mineral memory predominantly shaped by the processes of “life.” Some minerals can’t even form unless organisms contribute to their formation, but once formed these minerals go on to react to the whole ecology of the mineral world. A sort of foundational chemistry, that recycles back into living evolution through environmental exposure, as well as absorption through diet, directly or indirectly.

What you eat is very much a part of what you dream.

Androids would indeed dream of electric sheep, because we dream of organic patterns our own bodies and brains recognize. You assimilate the hormones and electrochemical constitution of what you ate while you sleep, and this does affect your consciousness, because there is no division of consciousness.

You are what you eat.

Your stomach dreams. Your heart dreams. They can’t identify a difference between the brains dreaming and the neural activity in other parts of the body. Everything in your entire flesh and blood make-up has memory which means it has imagination.

Athletes talk about muscle memory.

Also about getting into the “zone”, which might simply be a memory place — of confidence and expertise.

The zone is intense focus coupled with relaxation.

Perhaps it’s being in tune with a collective. You drop the barriers.

Perhaps that intense focus and relaxation is what keys the brain into that “space.”

Yes, that collective space.

Some cultures think eating a part of something will give you the qualities of that animal. I think that goes for cannabis too. Like eating the heart of the deer…which is also called a hart.

So have I solidly established the physical substrate of collective memory?

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
