Ever actor has a role. There is no movie without these roles. Roles are “spirits.” We recognize the role of every character in theatre without being told. It’s quite easy, because the “spirit” of the role is real. There is not this father or that father. These aren’t the spirit. There is “the father.” There isn’t this hero and that hero. There is “the hero.”
I am not stripping these spirits of life, but explaining how they have life. The person you know yourself to be is a single spirit. But you have for your ancestry, ancient and perhaps “cosmic” spirits that all of our reality has been patterned on. The first observers, the “creators”, but the creators didn’t create then go away. If they did this reality wouldn’t have endured. They created and became embodied.
We invoke them and join with them when we take on certain roles? Exactly, and are called to fill some roles by them. This is why it can seem so mysterious when an otherwise anti-social person behaves in a very compassionate way. When the “gods” call, we often have to answer.
So back to metaphysical theatre. It doesn’t matter if a human being sees your “act.” It does matter that it is an expression of your true will, because the audience you are playing to is composed of the spirits/gods themselves.
This reminds me of those moments when I say, “What did I just do?” You responded to them.
Now does that mean humanity is not an audience for the great “act” of magick? No, quite the opposite. They are indeed an audience also, and even if they don’t consciously profess to understand what you just did or why, the part of them marked by the spirits and what gives them their essence or “soul” understands perfectly well.
We are all actors? We should get Oscars for being alive? We could if we could get our roles straight, but we garble the script.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
