Fantasy And Wish Fulfillment in Second Life

Second Life

Anyone else want to share a fantasy? Fantasy and wish fulfillment are just a safety valve for inner energy we really need to use, and though just having a fantasy about it releases some steam, in the long run it won’t be enough.

Right now my fantasy is to retire and live in a gypsy wagon or other cool place. You are likely already limiting your obligations beyond the practical, and probably show a preference for being away from your literal address. Likely are fascinated with other peoples homes and places that aren’t like your native country.

Yes. I’ve always wanted to live in another country. You also are likely experiencing some creative frustration, as gypsies lived by limited gathering, as well as traveling traders and entertainers. You would prefer to be able to work by talking to people. You may not like singing or dancing, but I suspect you would really love to be a writer or story teller of some type.

It isn’t just a fantasy. Because my friend, can you change how you are relating to this? Can you stop wandering or the desire to be a story teller from arising in your mind?

No, it always comes back. And with a vengeance, no? Like it’s angry at you? Yes. Because it is. Because you are and the more you resist this, the worse it will get. Though people can be stubborn enough to die without living the inner life, their memoirs are usually very grim to read.

So I should just write it down and not worry so much that it wouldn’t be interesting, or be afraid that I wouldn’t do it well? Exactly. Your inner life doesn’t care about all the worries.

Your thoughts are welcome. Be well friends.
