The spiritual insights of the Norse religion can be summarized as a collection of intuitive metaphors called “kennings”, and we still use the word. They governed community meetings, called “things”. This is how their communities were governed, and skalds kept the remembrance of the kennings as well as the decisions and events that occurred in the things (community meetings).
Interestingly, if a chief was a raging idiot the influence of the skald could get him deposed. The chief was expected to answer with wisdom any challenges to his judgment. He couldn’t just attack the skald, if he did the tribal warriors would put him down like a rabid dog. If he couldn’t match wits with the skald he would loose his position in shame and the position of chief was only semi hereditary. Perhaps we need a skald in the U.S.?
But blind ambition makes idiots of all our leaders. I [...] Continue to Seek…

The Norse saw there as not being one world, but nine. Perhaps corresponding to the chakras of eastern mysticism, and these nine worlds rested on ygrdassil the world tree not unlike the Jewish tree of life. Modern physics also have a theory of ten dimensions, but seen from our point of view it might seem like nine. It would be interesting if they come up with the same number in the end. In numerology there are only nine stages. Anything higher is repetition and anything possessed of the full ten dimensions in physics might seem to us to be an anomaly. Like a wormhole, or black hole, any sort of singularity. Thus starting over again at one.
What was the Norse ‘morality’ or code of conduct like? Religion = myth = subjective truth perhaps. Their morality was based on personal accountability and family bonds. They didn’t have a set of codes, because [...] Continue to Seek…

Norse religion still affects much of our culture today. Our fondness for feast holidays originates with them, as does the name of many of our days of the week. Their imagery has much in common with Indo-European religion, and is a variant of shamanism in many ways it’s practiced. It was primarily a clan based “household” religion. The clan head was more than a domestic leader. He was also the spiritual leader. The tradition in modern Christian homes of the head of household “being male” and being the spiritual authority as well also originated with them. Although this was widespread throughout Indo-Aryan influenced cultures and reinforced as these culture began to communicate with each other.
It was an oral doctrine for the most part, and there are linguistic connections included in myth and place names. Our popular imagery of fire and ice had its origin in Norse myth and was [...] Continue to Seek…

Many say I’m too divisive. Divisive is ”to act as an agent of division” loosely defined. I don’t speak of the ‘oneness’ enough. That I make people think in bad ways simply put. I just report what I know. Nothing else. If you deny the wall is there and you walk into it will it go away? If you acknowledge the wall you can figure out what to do, and for any practical purpose the wall isn’t a barrier for you. It’s there, but it is a circumstance and not a problem. Even potentially a boon, but the division stands. Walls can have doors and often do, but it’s from understanding that the barrier is mastered not from denial.
In the movie Labyrinth, she was standing looking at the wall and didn’t understand a maze that had no turns, until she learned to look at it differently. It isn’t about the circumstance. [...] Continue to Seek…

Most people seem to want to resist any identification. It has been my experience that we tend to be creatures of our elements, though these aren’t narrow. It is like the world was repeated endlessly with any color you choose, like those classic artists who used a single color for a theme. Though in fact we tend to not use one color only, we don’t use them all and we each have a personal rainbow. This is why anyone who says a color always means “insert meaning here”. This is delusional. This doesn’t even apply to physical observation.
Here is an example, you may observe my aura and noticed black in it. Many just automatically say that is bad negative energy and something is seriously wrong with me. They don’t look any deeper, but for me it’s natural. It’s not that there is nothing universal, but you can make some serious logic errors.

To find a crystal, are there varying degrees of quality? Not quality, but there is differing character. They are like living things, if you don’t bond they disconnect. Sort of like someone who bonds with their houseplants. If they have a supportive energy themselves the houseplants will flourish. For some, crystals won’t be remarkably useful. This doesn’t mean they will be useless, but their energies will connect best only with a narrow set of crystals. For others they will connect with crystals in general pretty well, and will find a wide variety useful. For me the more volcanic minerals work, like obsidian.
It isn’t necessarily about any one part of a stone that you should make your choice. If you choose, it is the character of the stone. One yellow stone may drain you, another energize you. You can feel it when you touch the stone. It is not wise [...] Continue to Seek…

What else are crystals used for? Energy manipulation? They can be used for energy manipulation. Have you ever wished you could get someone to do some energy work for you, but don’t know anyone you feel comfy with? Crystals are an intelligence, and can direct energies they bond with. They will tend to direct them in ways that match their character. So if you want a crystal to assist health, then quartz and its variants will likely be best.
Shamans sometimes use crystals in healing. For example, healing work on your stomach may go something like this. Your stomach feels very tight at first, and then seems to take on a “mind of its own”, and then like working out a kink in a muscle the issue reduces and eventually clears. The crystal is a Shamans spirit helper. The “mind of its own” was the crystal. He didn’t do anything [...] Continue to Seek…

Like meeting a new person you may not be resonant with a specific type of crystal. For myself, I tend to connect more with crystals that have base element inclusions, iron, etc. Those things that are more on the “decayed” side of the elemental chart, but others would perhaps vibe with more “refined” or “energetic” crystals. They each have an impact on people.
Now in fact crystals can be used to serve as an additional pair of eyes when dealing with places of power, or just dealing with your personal space. They can also be brought into entrainment to radiate an effect you would have fill your home. A “positive” haunting in a way.
If you would expand your awareness in general, find a crystal you feel a sense of rapport with. It might seem strange, but you will feel the same rapport as with a person. It will just feel good [...] Continue to Seek…

The material uses of things in magic (or whatever you prefer to call your practice) stem from one type of insight, that the world is interconnected. Hermetic philosophy refers to these connections as correspondences, and they have been viewed in literally every mystical practice across the world. This raises the question of what is power, and what is spirit.
Many observations have been made about how anything is organized, even human DNA. Perhaps of some interest is that literally everything follows a crystalline pattern; water, gases, any solid matter. Human DNA seems to be based on a calcium rich clay matrix, and interestingly so do quartz deposits.
Crystal magic is ultimately based on an “animistic” world view. That the crystals have a spirit. In animism all that exists, exists because of a spirit behind it. Not necessarily a consciousness but still the foundation for consciousness, and crystals seem to be a [...] Continue to Seek…

Are the trees happy? They aren’t always. As guardians of the zoasphere they at times cause an environmental shift.
Our elders live among us, nod sympathetically at times and in despair at others. There is little joy anymore. Though as they say hope springs eternal and so there is still adaptation. Still healing. Cleaning up the human mess. Human hubris could stand to do far more than humans fear it will. But patience is a virtue even among our elders, They can’t wait forever and aren’t.
The bulk of DNA in humanity is dormant because it was to serve as memory. We are supposedly evolved, and yet compared to what was intended we are down right larval.
Humanity discovered that matter and energy were the same thing, and took that to mean it was just another resource. And the resource they like best is a pointy stick so they made the matter-energy conversion [...] Continue to Seek…
