We are self medicating to avoid the real problems and the world of greed and intolerance. We demonize vices and thus wind up worshiping them. Greed is bad and no one really thinks about greed. The greedy person often reviles their own greed, but they don’t stop it. It is an addictive behaviour. It is taboo to think about greed. What are the greedy for? Of what use or good is it to have more?
In voicing criticisms about society, I am not saying we have done nothing of value or that it needs to be demonized. If anything we can be and should be held to greater accountability. In the distant past our greed would have been considered survival, but at this point our survival as individuals is most threatened by our own kind.

People argue the relativity of truth, or the nature of absolute truth. The paradox is that all truth is relative so none of it is. It behaves like truth and this relative truth is very here and now. It is in this reality so the ‘nothing matters’ crowd is wrong, and the ‘everything needs to be a machine’ crowd is wrong. These people keep themselves locked in their views, and both have their own complaints about reality for the very simple reason that they deny their own reality. In both extremes they overlook the heart of the question.
Sounds like I am speaking of nonduality? I am, but even many of the adherents of that understanding believe without understanding. They preach of nonduality but refuse to accept that even what they call duality is part of the nonduality. They harm in preaching.
Many religions (Christianity in particular) teach the view of [...] Continue to Seek…

There is a lot of popularity to the concept of manifestation, but it is poorly understood. It is like telling people to think of pink bunnies though nothing motivates them to think of pink bunnies. Expressed in the way they do, it has little power because it sees only part of the nature of what it presumes to control. We don’t manifest negativity only because we don’t know better. We don’t express these negative things only because we have been conditioned.
I think a lot of people manifest negativity, and they manifest negativity because of their idea of control. They don’t seek to manifest life. They seek to manifest control. Static things, dead things and then they lose power and blame it on manifestation. You don’t manifest in the world. The world as described doesn’t even exist. You manifest in you.
People seek self control. Self has to be what they [...] Continue to Seek…

Control is a human obsession. It’s a human endeavour, and it’s human nature. Control is very poorly understood at best. Control is how we kill ourselves. Control is what we do when we kill pain. Control is what we do when we kill time. Control is what we do when we medicate the mentally unfit. Control is undertaken without sufficient understanding of what is being controlled, without proper identification, without understanding of the nature of the thing you would control, even self. Then the consequences are disastrous.
If you insist that your car is a boat, what will happen? The car won’t fill that role. If you insist you are what you are not and your relationships are what they are not, the outcome is similar. Life is unlike objects in that it is self perpetuating, but our objects have purpose because we have purpose. We impart the purpose to [...] Continue to Seek…

The tarot cards come up and are read not only for their symbolism, but for their place in the spread. Are you familiar with Egyptian cartouches or Sumerian murals? Well, the sequence of the symbols mattered as much as the symbols, and each spread has its own meaning beyond the cards. So a three card spread is laid in a line but it’s the number three and connected to the thaumaturgists triangle, the symbol that preserves balance thus the purpose of the pyramids. So when reading a series of three cards it’s based on the context of your question, but it is always circumstance, cause, and balance.
The most popular spread, at least most often seen in movies and stuff, is the Celtic cross. It’s actually based on cabalistic lore. The cross is like the native American medicine wheel. A thumbnail sketch of the world around the seeker, and each [...] Continue to Seek…

Pentacles in the minor arcana represent physical progress. Cups represent gathering, the first mystery of the heart. They are the suit in the minor arcana of the personal life in contrast to the physical or mental, and then wands which are often shown as torches. Wands symbolize the inner fire, inspiration and spirit, and its cycle is defined by the numerological progression
The major arcana are the big players. The broad sweeping forces in life. The context of which the whole cycle of progress takes place. So if I draw the world, it’s the archetype of the world. Promethean effort. All intuitive meanings of the world as symbol, and often times a single card or a small series will come up in readings routinely. These are significators, cards connected to the seeker getting the reading. Like for me death, the devil, and the tower. So they are foundational to a [...] Continue to Seek…

Cartomancy is a relatively new method of the more general practice of divination. It arose in the late medieval era as a way of preserving initiatory murals in a way that could be kept safe and transported. The major arcana specifically is those big spooky cards you often see in movies and are read about in books. They evolved over time, but each card of the major arcana has a number associated with it, because it was a stage in an initiatory procession. To preserve the theurgist lore of the cultures that originated it. You will notice a lot of temple imagery in the major arcane, and even some of the minor. They also have links to numerological lore. So the images capture the spirit behind the number.
What was this initiation? They represent the esoteric elements of the path of life itself. The zero card being the fool and [...] Continue to Seek…

There is no enemy anywhere. A crazy thought. Insane, huh? Nothing to exert our will against. Nothing to change. Nothing that is not us. No one who is not your family, no one who isn’t in your mind, your heart. What would life be like that if that was recognized as the truth?
Bravery is not a virtue, it’s a decision. If everyone learnt the simple lesson about the cycle going full circle then life would be so much easier. Life would be less contentious. Less argument and struggle, less stifled. More dynamic. More healthy for people in general. If blood flow stops we die, so perhaps flow is good. Flow is change and growth, and opportunity for correction.
No one goes anywhere. There isn’t any need. There is no such thing as loss. Even death as most define it doesn’t really exist. As science says, energy cannot be either created or destroyed [...] Continue to Seek…

One of the appeals of fantasy role playing even in the way it started which was Dungeons & Dragons, was that the characters from mythology (the heroes) are ultimately us and represent all the types. Those types still exist, just not in the same context. The roles they chose to make classes in the original game were based on real roles people assume. Add more imagination to it, and you free people.
Do you think young people today are discovering themselves better with the involvement in games like World of Warcraft (WoW)? Yes I do. There is even a case of a young boy who saved his sister from an angry moose because he played a hunter in WoW. He had no knowledge otherwise, no outdoor background but he told his sister to play dead. It came over and sniffed her then wandered off.

Which matters more, money or the ones you love? Which matters more, stability or growth that keeps up with the communities needs?
Money doesn’t do much on its own. It is largely a meaningless number in a bank if you have no hope. You could be incredibly rich and have that money count for nothing if you have no reason to use the money. Hope goes beyond things.
Inside, do you find emptiness? Inside of you, you find what you believe is there. You were told that what you wanted was wrong, and that you didn’t matter. You believe them. They are wrong.
Do you want to be a relaxed person, free of anger? Correct that, because it isn’t a want. You need to be a relaxed person. It’s a real need. Your well being depends on it. Your sanity depends on it. People blame you for your reaction when they criticise [...] Continue to Seek…
