Everyone familiar with how soap bubbles stay intact? Or the structure of, say, a bucky ball or a carbon nano-tube?
Tension. Specific, coherent patterns of tension, and well, especially in the case of the nano-tube, they can display qualities people describe as unearthly. The strongest thing on earth right now, well, manufactured thing as this same principle also applies to the human mind. The “orbits” your attention and pattern of cognition follow if they remain dynamic and coherent around your true centre.
The impact of your personal “observer effect” can be much greater than it is now. It would make reality seem rather different from the fall apart nearly dead world it can seem like today. New relationships of thought as well as human interaction. New ranges of perception. Human echolocation and generalized “sight” would be commonplace. Our understanding of mechanics, chemistry and engineering would far outstrip what it is now. What do you think?
There would be lots of people going clicky click everywhere. Likely. Might even be able to finesse the quantum wiggle that governs exactly how physics and matter behave. A teddy bear literally animated by a child’s imagination, and disciplined application of course.
It would enable connectedness with everything and everyone. No separation. They seem to want to do that with electrodes in our heads, of course they want to start with mice first. They seem to think that because they could rig two mouse brains together in such a way that they begin to respond to each others brain activity, that they could subvert that exchange for the purpose of building a new kind of computer. What do you think of that?
Hmm, a biological computer? Yes. They have already used an electric eel brain to guide a robot. They hooked it up to simple sensors. It worked for a while at least.
I imagine Second Life running on a server bank of mouse brains. Ah, they ran an old real time strategy game on cultured mouse brain tissue. It didn’t operate for very long. The tissue is not the brain though, and the brain is not the mind.
Starcraft? I think it might have been an early iteration of Civilization. I don’t properly recall unfortunately. They will find that, if they attempt to use pre-existing mouse brains, their efforts will be significantly complicated.
What’s the alternative to pre-existing mouse brains? Synthetic brain tissue.
You mean grow it? Yes.
Your thoughts are welcome. Be well, and watch where you point those minds.
