Truth is a reality checking process in the mind. It can operate in a healthy fashion, or get twisted, or can just be totally eschewed for a strictly relativistic artifice that excuses any stance as just what’s in fad of the mental moment.
You know what I am resolved to? Resolution seems to be a place that the flipping coin finally rests. I find that this is an illusion. There seems to be no resolution. Only there are points where the coin flips to another side. There is resolution as things do come into focus, and what comes into focus depends on where you are looking.
They come into focus like a cloud temporarily, and they create a picture in them of what we would like to see, but soon you look back and the cloud and your picture in it are gone. If I commit an act of horrid violence is anything cloudy? Can you ignore the swiftly flowing river because it’s unstable? Perhaps overpower it or convince it it’s not real?
Nothing in the universe is stable. It is random? Nothing is random because nothing is unconnected. Nothing at all can happen by itself. And yes, plenty is unpredictable, but the more fully you see, the more fully you predict. When I have made a decision and taken action there is a very real consequence. I don’t have to decide for the consequence to happen. I just have to decide to take the action.
If everything is so very relative then if I say in the new year I will not teach, it won’t matter to anyone? No one will be affected? If I wack my annoying brother, it’s only an illusion when he yelps? Resolution is if I have a vision of why I should teach, or why I should not teach. The fully realized vision can endure my entire life. Resolution is like graphics on your computer. How much is fully actualized? How much is fully engaged? More can be fully engaged, fully shown, fully resolved.
Nothing supports the concept that anything ends or can actually end, thus the relativistic argument has a big logic break in it. Revelation/resolution have a long tradition. Modern nihilistic enlightenment/mysticism has little history save for the, “Let’s all be at peace because nothing matters. Let’s all empty our heads.” It exists because of a stable dynamic and not because there is any substance to a relativistic view. The solar winds endure. The gravitic fields are a part of the solar wind dynamic. The time space distortion that creates real-time/space endures, but nothing is self existent. Infinite wavelengths of light that as they are mixed all create the light we know. It’s all in the consensus.
We’re all crazy? Actually, we are all sane. We create an order. Sane isn’t enlightened. The educated man isn’t wise, and the wise man is not educated. The person putting forth experience as authority is just putting forth subjective data. The person who acts is putting forth wisdom. The sage does no great thing and nothing is left undone. A picture painted one brush stroke at a time. In each moment just that stroke, very simple, one line.
